Engine oils
For modern engines use only the oil grade is not lower than HD (Heavy Duty under the old classification API) with lubricating properties, enhanced by various additives. They increase the corrosion protection, provide the required viscosity, improve washing and dissolving effect, prevent oil oxidation and the formation of slag. Detergents and solubilizing additives not only reduce the formation of deposits in the engine, but at the same time have the ability to dissolve contamination and keep in suspension so that they are removed together with oil overflows during its replacement. The quality of oil is determined by the classification of API (American Petroleum Institute). European manufacturers also adhere to this system. According to the modern classification API, oil grades are designated by two letters. The first letter describes the field of application: oil S (service) are intended for petrol engines; C (commercial) intended for diesel engines. The second letter defines the oil grade in alphabetic order. Oil of the highest grade of API classification is SJ for gasoline engines and CH for diesel engines.
Gasoline engines For petrol engines Audi is supposed to apply the following classes of oils: - All-weather oils with improved anti-friction properties, the relevant specifications VW 500.00; - Multigrade oils that comply with the VW 501.01; - Multigrade oils class API SF or higher.
Diesel engines For diesel engines, Audi is supposed to apply the following classes of oils: - All-weather oils with improved anti-friction properties, the relevant specifications VW 500.00 (diesel turbocharged engines only in a mixture with the oil specification VW 505.00); - Multigrade oils that comply with the VW 505.00 (unlimited for all diesel engines); - Multigrade oils class API CD (for diesel engines with turbo charging only when absolutely necessary for topping up); - Multigrade oils that comply with the VW 501.01 (diesel turbocharged engines only in a mixture with the oil specification VW 505.00). On vehicles manufactured since 2000, with chassis number 002 888 4BYN, installed engines, which use a new engine oil with extended service life and improved lubricity. The service life of the new oil in your car is as follows: - For vehicles with petrol engines: 30 000 km or 2 years; - For vehicles with four-cylinder diesel engines: 50 000 km or 2 years; - For vehicles with six-cylinder diesel engines: 35 000 km or 2 years. Inadmissibility of the use of new oil in diesel engines 1,9-TDI with pump-injector. Change the oil and oil filter should be inspected at least once every 2 years. If the engine uses conventional oil, the oil change intervals of 15,000 km or 12 months.
A WARNING For vehicles manufactured before 1999, the new oil with an increased service life can not be used. |
Gasoline engines A - multi-purpose oil with increased durability and improved lubricity specification VW 503 00 for gasoline engines, - Multi-purpose oil with increased durability and improved lubricity specification VW 503 01 for petrol turbo engines, power over 154 kW.
Diesel engines A - multi-purpose oil with increased durability and improved lubricity specification VW 506 00 for diesel engines, except for engines with unit injectors.
