Check the front suspension and steering
Lift the front of the car and secure on stands. Visually inspect the dirt-protecting covers of spherical hinges and protective covers rack and pinion steering gear for cracks, abrasions and aging. Any damage to the covers will lead to loss of lubricant and the ingress of water and dirt and, as a consequence, a rapid deterioration of spherical hinges or steering.

Check the mud cover and torque locknuts tie rod which should be 40 Nm (Fig. 2.24). Check the power steering hoses for wear and tear, as well as pipe and hose connections for leaks. Check for signs of leakage pressurized protective rubber covers steering which indicate damage to the seal in the steering mechanism. Extend the jack, take a wheel hands in position "6 and 12 hours," and try to shake it in a vertical plane. A slight backlash wheel is acceptable. If you play great, need further testing to determine the cause of the fault. Continue to swing a wheel while the assistant should press on the brake pedal. If the play is eliminated or significantly reduced, it is likely to damage the hub bearings. If the play is still a big, mean, worn joints and suspension mounting. Now take a wheel hands in position "9 and 3 hours" and try to shake it in a horizontal plane. Backlash in the horizontal plane can be caused by wear of the bearing hub or a tie rod ball joint. If external or internal ball joint is worn, the play is immediately noticeable.
