Removing the camshaft and hydraulic chain tensioner
NOTES The cylinder head having cracks between the valve seats or between valve seat and the spark plug hole, can be used if the crack width of 0.3 mm or damaged to four of the first threads of the spark plug. After installing the camshaft, wait for 30 minutes before starting the engine for the hydraulic tappets have come back to normal, because otherwise the pistons may hit the valves. If you were working on the timing, turn the hand crank shaft on two complete revolutions, to ensure that the pistons do not strike the valves. Replace all new gaskets and O-rings. |
Removal and installation of camshafts and hydraulic chain tensioner is held with the engine mounted on the vehicle. Install the front transverse panel in service position (see. "Body").

|
Remove the three screws and remove the engine cover (see. Fig. 3.1.2). Remove poly V-belt and the belt tensioner. Remove the top casing of a gear belt.

Turning the crankshaft in the direction of its working rotation of the pulley bolt, install the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead center (TDC). Make sure that the mark on the camshaft pulley combined with the index on TDC cylinder head cover and the label of the crankshaft combined with the index on the housing (see. Fig. 3.1.39). Remove the cylinder head cover.

Allen key 8 mm slowly turn counterclockwise toothed belt tensioner pulley to align the holes 2 (see. Fig. 3.1.43) in stock and housing tensioner. In this position, insert into the holes T40011 mandrel or a steel rod with a diameter of 1.5 mm. Do not loosen the bolts 3.
All models Remove a gear belt from a camshaft pulley. Do not turn the crankshaft when removing the timing belt as the pistons may hit the valves. Remove the bolt and remove a pulley of a gear belt from a camshaft. Unscrew and remove the Hall sensor.

Lock hydraulic chain tensioner to lock chain tensioner 3366 (Fig. 1.3.63).
NOTE If too much squeeze lock chain tensioner, it can damage the hydraulic chain tensioner. |
| Fig. 3.1.64. Combining marks on the camshaft sprocket with pointers to the cylinder head when installed in TDC of first cylinder
|
Check that the camshafts are installed in TDC position of first cylinder, and the label on the back of stars have to be aligned with the pointer on the cylinder head (Fig. 3.1.64).
| Fig. 3.1.65. Location registration marks on the chain and sprockets and location measuring the distance between the marks
|
Put combination labels on a chain in front of labels on asterisks and the cylinder head (Fig. 3.1.65). The distance between the labels put on the chain should be equal to sixteen units.
| Fig. 1.3.69. When installing a new circuit distance between the marks A and B should be sixteen units of the chain. It shows the exact position of the 1st and 16th of the chain links
|
The label on the camshaft exhaust valves must be slightly offset relative to the inside of the roller chain 1 (see. Fig. 1.3.69).

|
Remove the bolts and remove the bearing caps 3 and 5 (Fig. 1.3.66) camshaft intake and exhaust valves. Remove the bolts and remove the cover of the double bearings. Remove the bolts and remove the bearing cap from the Stars. Remove the mounting bolts of the hydraulic chain tensioner. By loosening the bolts crosswise bearing caps 2 and 4, gradually unscrew and remove them from the camshaft intake and exhaust valves. Remove camshafts with hydraulic chain tensioner.
Installing the camshaft and hydraulic chain tensioner
| Fig. 1.3.67. Location field of rubber-gasket, which is necessary to apply a thin coat of sealant AMV 188 001 02
|
Replace the rubber-gasket hydraulic chain tensioner, and apply a thin coat of sealant AMV 188 001 02 to the selection shown in Figure 1.3.67. Install chain on asterisks of camshafts as follows:
| Fig. 3.1.68. When reinstalling the chain sprocket camshafts align before labeling
|
- When a new chain of the gauge of A and B (Fig. 1.3.69) on the camshafts should be sixteen units of the chain. A label must be slightly offset inwardly relative to the first link in the chain. Install hydraulic chain tensioner (requires two people). Install camshafts with hydraulic chain and chain tensioner in the cylinder head. Apply engine oil to the cervix and cams of camshafts.
NOTE Centering sleeves for bearing caps and hydraulic chain tensioner must be installed in the cylinder head. |
Install the bearing caps so that the markings on the covers was read by the intake camshaft. Squeeze bearing hydraulic chain tensioner, making sure that the centering sleeve is in place. Crosswise tighten screws of bearing caps 2 (see. Fig. 1.3.66) camshaft intake and exhaust valves. Make sure that the camshafts are installed correctly, with the label on the back of stars have to be aligned with the pointer on the cylinder head (see. Fig. 3.1.64). The distance between the labels put on the chain should be equal to sixteen chain links (see. Fig. 3.1.65). The label on the camshaft exhaust valves must be slightly offset relative to the inside of the roller chain 1 (see. Fig. 1.3.69). Remove the lock chain tensioner 3366.
| Fig. 1.3.70. Place applying sealant AMV 188 001 02 to the camshaft bearing caps
|
Apply to the area indicated in Figure 1.3.70, a thin layer of sealant AMV 188 001 02 and install a double cover of bearings. At the same time, make sure that the centering sleeve is in place. Tighten cover bolts. Install the remaining bearing caps of camshafts in the reverse order of removal, and fix their bolts. Replace camshaft seals.
| Fig. 1.3.71. Location tags OT on a pulley of a gear belt of a camshaft
|
Install toothed belt pulley on the camshaft. Pay attention to the installation position of the pulley: on the front side of the pulley should be visible label FROM (TDC) of the first cylinder (Fig. 1.3.71). Turn the pulley bolt and tighten it to 65 Nm while holding the pulley from turning tool 3036. Install the hall sensor. Install the cylinder head cover. Align the mark on the camshaft pulley with a pointer to the cylinder head cover (see. Fig. 3.1.39). Align the mark on the pulley-damper crankshaft with a pointer to a casing of a gear belt (see. Fig. 3.1.39). Install the timing belt and adjust its tension. After installing the camshaft, wait for 30 minutes before starting the engine for the hydraulic tappets have come to normal. Otherwise, the pistons may strike the valve. If you were working on the timing, turn the hand crank shaft on two complete revolutions, to ensure that the pistons do not strike the valves.
