The grooves of tire tread wear indicators are 1.6 mm in height, are at right angles to the rolling direction of the tire. LEDs (six to eight, depending on the manufacturer) are placed at equal distances around the circumference of the tire. Markers on the sidewall of the tire (for example, the letters TWI or icon in a triangle) shows the location of the tire wear indicators (Fig. 13.1). Intensive tire wear contribute to sports driving habits, sharp acceleration and braking. Tires can be operated until a tread depth of 1.6 mm, i.e. tread grooves across the surface of the tire should be less than 1.6 mm. However, for safety reasons it is recommended to change tires when tread depth of 2 mm. Tires ?�M + S?� snow have adequate grip when the tread height of not less than 4 mm. It should examine the bus. If deep cuts reach a cord, steel cord will corrode from penetrating moisture. Tyres of such cuts should be replaced immediately. Worn tires do not provide the necessary adhesion to the road surface, especially when driving at high speed on a wet road. Moreover, when the worn tire hydroplaning occurs much faster (loss of grip on wet surfaces).
