Separating center and rear silencers
Front-wheel drive cars If you disconnect the exhaust system is complicated, with a gas burner, heat the connection pipe and disconnect it. Rear and center mufflers are designed as a single block, but each of them can be replaced individually.

On the tube connecting the rear and center mufflers, apply a label and a special cutter (eg, VA G 1523) cut the pipe (Fig. 5.31, 5.32).

If necessary, replace the rear or the central silencer. Replace the pipe joint clamp and secure it by tightening the clamp bolts to 40 Nm. Clamp set so that the lower edge of the clamp bolt located at the level of exhaust pipe (see. Fig. 5.30).

On the pipes connecting the rear and center mufflers, apply labels and special cutter (eg, VA G 1523) cut the pipe (Fig. 5.33). If necessary, replace the rear or the central silencer. Position the rear silencer in a horizontal position on the exhaust system hangers. Replace the pipe joint clamps and secure them by tightening the clamp bolts to 40 Nm. Clamps, set so that the bottom edge of the clamp bolt located at the level of exhaust pipe.
