Sump gasoline engine 1.8 liters



Before disconnecting the battery, check whether you have the code switch on the radio.
Switch off the ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.

Remove the screws and remove the bottom mudguard of a motor compartment (see. Fig. 3.1.5).
Turn out bolts and remove an arm of the bottom mudguard of a motor compartment.

Loosen the hose clamps and remove the air tube that connects the base of the cooler air from the front transverse panel (Fig. 6.3).
Disconnect the hose connecting the turbocharger to the front transverse panel.
Drain the engine oil.
Remove the tube from the turbocharger oil return to the oil pan.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the engine oil level sensor.

A WARNING
Chalk, markers or paint mark the direction of rotation of poly V-belt. After setting the belt rotates in the opposite direction, which may result in its destruction.

Loosen the bolts tensioning poly V-belt air conditioning compressor and remove the belt from the pulleys (Fig. 6.4).
Remove the tensioner pulley.

Remove the mounting bolts compensator reactive torque (Fig. 6.5).

Remove the longitudinal rack and remove the bolts clamp support compensator reactive torque (Fig. 6.6).
Release the clamps, remove and move aside the wires from the starter housing.

Cars with automatic transmission

NOTE
Observe cleanliness when working with the automatic transmission.

3 Remove the bolt (Fig. 6.7) and disconnect the pipes for oil cooling of an automatic transmission.
Remove the clamp fastening of pipelines for oil cooling of the engine and move the pipes aside.

All models

Note the location of the threaded connections 1 (Fig. 6.8) and the mounting sleeves 2 on the right and left engine support.

NOTE
For various modifications of engines using different arrangements of screw connections and mounting bushings.

1 Remove the nuts securing the base left and right engine mounts.

Remove the three screws and remove the engine cover (see. Fig. 3.1.2).
Remove the rubber seal waterproof housing at the rear of the engine compartment.

Remove the waterproof housing 1 (Fig. 6.9).

Remove the nuts left and right engine mounts (Fig. 6.10).
Remove the protective cover from the top of the front suspension struts.
Install the support bar 10-222 on the top of the front suspension struts.
Install adapter 10-222A / 2 on the support bar 10-222 3147 capture and secure adapter on the back of the lug for lifting the motor.
Turn the screw of the lifting device, tighten the grip so that the engine weight was perceived by the elevating device.
Loosen the V-ribbed belt and remove it from the alternator pulley.
Secure by turning the pulley fan with viscous coupling bolt M5x60 mm.
Socket wrench to remove the 8 mm bolts and remove a pulley viscous clutch fan heat sink and take it to the fan cowl.
Support sub-frame transmission or reception jack (eg, VAG 1202 A).

Remove bolts 2 and 3 (Fig. 6.11) fastenings of the left and right poles sub-frame and the last to turn out bolts 1.

Vehicles with manual transmission
Remove the four turns the nut of the left support of a transmission.

Cars with automatic transmission
Remove a few turns back the bolt left transmission mount, then turn the bolt front transmission mount.

All models
Remove a few turns back the bolt of the right support a transmission, then turn the bolt front transmission mount.
Lower the sub-frame.
Remove the left engine support.

Crosswise, loosen, then turn out bolts 1-18 (Fig. 6.12) fastenings of the oil pan to the engine.
To loosen the bolts fastening the rear of the oil pan will need to use the tool 3249. In the absence of a tool 3249 for access to the screws rotate the flywheel in the position of the notch on the handwheel to set the sequence of the bolts.
Remove the oil pan.
Plastic or wooden scraper to remove any remnants of the old sealant and gasket sealing surfaces of the engine and the oil pan.
