Removal and installation of the shock absorber
You will need: the keys "9", "12", "19", Allen head "32", the key bolt wheel knob, puller ball joints, barbs, hammer. 1. slow down the car and set the parking brake, wheel chocks ("shoes") under the rear wheels. 2. Loosen the nuts of the hub. 3. Loosen the wheel bolts. A WARNING Loosen or tighten the wheel bolts only on the car standing on the earth. |
| | 4. Open the hood, a screwdriver to pry ... | 5. ... and remove the protective cover of the top support strut. |
| | 6. Hold a key shock-absorber rod from rotating, the second key loosen the nuts (if you remove the strut to replace the shock absorbers, springs, or the top support). | 7. Loosen the three nuts of the top support. |
8. Lift the front of the car and establish on reliable support. 9. Remove the wheel. 10. Remove the caliper mounting bolts, remove the caliper assembly (see. "Replacing the brake caliper"), without disconnecting the hose, and hang it on the wire. | | 14. Remove the hub nut ... | 15. ... remove the washer, output shank outer constant velocity joint of the wheel and drive the front wheels hang on the wire. |
A WARNING At work, be careful not to damage the protective cover CV joints as work on its replacement is very labor intensive. |
16. Finally, loosen the three nuts of the top support to the body, remove the washer (if fitted) and remove the strut assembly. 17. Install the strut in the reverse order of removal. Finally tighten the hub nut on the car standing on the earth, the values given in Appendix 1. 18. After tightening nut Stop a beard and a hammer.
NOTE After replacing the strut front suspension parts or check and if necessary, adjust the wheel alignment (see. "Check and adjust wheel alignment"). Take advantage of workshops, have special equipment. |
