Removing and installing steering column



You will need: the key "12" face head "12" with extension.
1. Disconnect a wire from the plug "minus" of the storage battery.
2. Remove the steering wheel (see. "Removing and installing the steering wheel"), after placing it in the position corresponding to the straight-ahead position.
3. Remove the paddle switch assembly with a connector (see. "Replacement of the steering column switch").
4. Under the instrument panel, unscrew the nut and remove the screw terminal connections of the steering shaft and flexible coupling.
5. Remove the nut of the bottom fastening of the steering column.
6. Remove the two nuts securing the steering column to the dashboard.
7. Remove the stem from the steering shaft terminals rubber sleeve and remove the steering column of the vehicle.
8. Remove the steering shaft from the housing column ...
9. ... and remove the plastic centering sleeve.
10. Install the centering sleeve on the steering shaft and the shaft - the housing of the steering column.
11. Insert the shank of the steering shaft in a rubber sleeve.
12. Slide the centering sleeve so that it fits into the housing of the steering column.
13. Tighten a coupling bolt terminal connections of the steering shaft and flexible coupling.
14. Tighten the bottom ...
15. ... and the two nuts of the top fastening of the steering column.
16. Slide the centering sleeve on the steering shaft so that it came out of the steering column housing.
17. Next, install the parts in reverse order of removal.
