Replacing the constant velocity joints
If, during the movement of the car when cornering heard a knock at the front drive, check the constant velocity joints. When shaking his hand felt the backlash of the drive shaft in the hinge and protective covers torn, a joint must be replaced. Disassemble the hinge almost no sense. This work is time-consuming, and when torn cover dirt gets into the hinge has already resulted in unusable parts of the hinge. Replace the hinge parts separately can not, therefore, the best solution - replace the hinge assembly. In an extreme case, it is allowed to replace the grease demolition of the internal hinge to be less susceptible to the ingress of water and road dirt. The appearance of grease on the hinge points to the fact that the cover is torn. You will need: cutting pliers, snap ring pliers, barbs, hammer. 2. Clean the parts and check the drive: - An outer constant-velocity joint must be rotated with slight force without jerks and jamming without radial and axial play. When present, replace the hinge; - The internal hinge should move in angular and axial directions with a slight effort, without jerks should be felt, jams and radial play. Otherwise, replace the internal hinge; - Protective covers external and internal hinges should not have cracks and breaks. Replace damaged covers; - Wheel drive shaft must not be deformed. NOTE Clamps for mounting of protective covers of hinges of equal angular velocities of one-time use, the assembly replace them with new ones. Typically, the clamps are supplied new hinge. |

| | 7. ... unclench retaining ring snap ring pliers, and bring down the clip with a hammer through a shaft barbs. | 8. Remove the external hinge with shaft splines. |
9. Remove the retaining ring from the opening clips.
NOTE When assembling replace retaining ring new. Generally, it is included the new hinge. |
10. Remove the protective cover.
NOTE When assembling a protective cover replaced. Typically, a cover is included the new hinge. |
11. If necessary, in the same way, remove the inner constant velocity joint. It has a structure substantially similar to the construction of the outer hinge (cover holder additionally inserted), and is fixed to the drive shaft in the same manner as the outside. 12. Wash all metal parts with kerosene to completely remove the old grease. 13. Before assembly, fill joints with new grease. If the grease is not included mounted hinge, constant velocity joints use grease-4 or a similar import. 14. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. 15. After installing the cover, prior to fixing clamps, pull the edge of the hinge cover from the body (for example, a screwdriver) to release the excess air out of the case. 16. Check the fit belts cover and tightened clamps. Cover should not be turned on a hinge, and hose clamps - on the cover. Otherwise, replace the clamps.
