Power steering pump
A WARNING When working on the pump, close the generator protective film. |
Withdrawal Disconnect the pressure hose from the oil pump.
A WARNING When installing, use a new sealing ring. |
Disconnect the suction hose from the pipe and pour the liquid into the container. On cars with engines V6 2,7 l remove the accessory drive belt. On cars with engines DOHC loosen the adjusting bolt tensioning device and remove the accessory drive belt. Remove the bolts and remove the pump pressure sensor connector.
Dismantling
| Fig. 4.36. Location suction pipe bolts
|
Remove the two screws and remove the suction pipe and the O-ring from the pump (Fig. 4.36).

Power assisted steering pump 1 - the gauge of pressure of the working fluid; 2 - suction tube; 3 - bolt 16 Nm; 4 - O-ring; 5 - a flow control valve, 55-60 Nm; 6 - bolt 38 Nm; 7 - a back cover; 8 - a lining; 9 - ring with fists; 10 - pin; 11 - a rotor; 12 - blades; 13 - front plate; 14 - a sealing ring (outer); 15 - a sealing ring (inner); 16 - a spring; 17 - front housing; 18 - gland; 19 - a shaft bearing; 20 - dust gasket; 21 - a lock ring; 22 - a pulley
|
Loosen the screws and remove the back cover with gasket and studs (Fig. 4.37). Remove the ring with the cam. Remove the rotor and blades. Remove the front plate. Remove inner and outer O-rings. Remove the spring.
A WARNING When assembling, use new gasket and O-ring. |
| Fig. 4.38. Unscrewing nuts pump pulley
|
Remove the pulley nut and remove it together with the spring washer (Fig. 4.38). Remove the pulley and key.
| Fig. 4.39. Using special pliers to remove the retaining ring
|
Remove the pulley shaft and the bearing. If necessary, use a plastic hammer. Remove the seal from the pump housing.
A WARNING During assembly, use a new oil seal. |
| Fig. 4.40. Details of the flow control valve
|
Remove the pin from the pump housing, remove the flow control valve and spring (Fig. 4.40). Remove the pin with the O-ring.
A WARNING Do not disassemble the flow control valve. |
Remove the oil pressure gauge. Remove the spring and coil. Remove the O-ring from the oil pressure sensor.
Check Clean all parts in a suitable solvent. If damage any internal details of the oil pump, replace the pump assembly. If a pulley, he found a crack or deformed, replace the pulley. If the gland around the shaft appeared drips fluid, replace the oil seal. If the pulley shaft or deformed or worn, replace the pulley and the shaft.
Assembly Install the oil pressure gauge. Install the valve spring flow control valve and connector to pump housing.
A WARNING Apply a thin layer of fluid to the power steering on all replacement parts, including gaskets and O-rings. |
Special adaptation (09222- 32100) set the seal into the pump housing. Carefully insert the shaft assembly and install the retaining ring. Replace the pump pulley, along with key. Install the spring as well as the inner and outer O-rings. Install the front plate.
| Fig. 4.41. Positioning rings with jaws: and - to the rear casing; b - to the front body
|
Insert the pins into the groove of the front casing, then insert the ring with fists, paying attention to the direction of installation (Fig. 4.41). Set the rotor side with the label in the direction of the front plate.

|
Set the blade plate so that the rounded ends are directed outwards (Fig. 4.42). Install the gasket and the back cover, secure them with screws. Fit the suction pipe bolts.
Setting Place the pump on the pump bracket. Install supply hose. Install poly V-belt and adjust its tension. Connect the feed pump pressure hose and suction hose - to the tank.
A WARNING Install hoses so that they are not twisted, and do not touch the other parts. |
Pour liquid PSF-3 with hydraulic power steering. Remove air from hydraulic power steering. Check the pressure created by the pump. Install the remaining parts to the required torque.
