Exhaust
The exhaust system provides the exhaust into the atmosphere, reducing the concentration of pollutants, reduced engine noise to the required level with minimal loss of engine power. To exhaust system to perform its functions, it must be in good condition. Status exhaust system affects engine performance and fuel consumption.

The exhaust system consists of a final collector a reception exhaust pipe, catalytic converter and the muffler (Fig. 2.70). Exhaust pipes provide the connection between the elements of the system itself. Muffler intended for smoothing the pulsations in the flow of exhaust gas and reducing noise.
A WARNING Before removing or checking the exhaust system, make sure that it is sufficiently cooled. |
Refitting

|
Remove the main silencer from the central exhaust pipe (Fig. 2.71). Remove the rubber suspension and Main Muffler. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe from the central exhaust pipe. Remove the nuts and bolts that secure the front exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold.

|
Remove the exhaust front pipe from the rubber hanger (Fig. 2.72). Check mufflers and pipes for leaks, corrosion and damage. Check the rubber suspension in the absence of damage and cracks. Temporarily install the exhaust front pipe (catalytic converter), the central exhaust pipe and muffler head (in that order). Install rubber suspension to the desired position. Tighten the details of the exhaust system and check that the system has been installed freely, without pressure, and there was enough clearance between it and the elements of the body.
