Anti-theft immobilizer system
On KIA Spectra cars equipped with electronic anti-theft immobilizer system (immobilizer), designed to prevent unauthorized starting of the engine by breaking the electrical circuits, the engine management system. Immobilizer consists of a control unit located in the control unit of the system ETWIS, the antenna unit in the ignition lock and the transponder embedded in the head of the key. Start the engine of the car is only possible with the help of keys registered immobilizer. Possible reasons for the refusal of the immobilizer "solve" the engine start key registered are as follows: - Touch the key to metal or magnetic objects; - Touching the rim of the metal part of the ignition key of another; - Touch key with other keys associated with the immobilizer system or with the keys from other cars. In the above cases, remove the key from the metal object, turn the key in the ignition switch ?�ACC?� (optional) or ?�LOCK?� (locking). Then again try to start up the engine. When the engine failed to start up, refer to the service station, as further troubleshooting diagnostics is only possible with a special diagnostic equipment.
A WARNING Amendment (connection of additional consumers) in the electrical circuit of the immobilizer is prohibited, as this may lead to its failure and, as a consequence, the impossibility of starting the engine. |
