Replacing the brake disk
In the presence of the working surface of the disk burrs, deep scratches and other defects, increases the wear pads and reduce braking performance, and in the case of high lateral runout causing vibration when braking, replace the drive. In specialized shops this disk can be machined and sanded on both sides at the same depth, but after processing the thickness of the disc should be less than the minimum.
NOTE On vehicles equipped with ABS, brake discs fitted diameter 255.4 mm and in vehicles without ABS - diameter 241 mm. |
Minimum thickness of a brake disk - 17 mm. If the thickness of one drive less than specified, replace both drives. When replacing brake disc is required to replace the brake pads new set. You will need: a key for nuts of wheels, shock Phillips screwdriver blade, a hammer. 1. Remove the wheel from the drive being replaced. |
| | 2. Remove the bracket on the strut rubber seal with a hose. | |
| | 4. Remove the two retaining screws ... | 5. ... and remove the brake disc from the front hub. |
6. Similarly, remove the right brake disc. |
7. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. |
NOTE Before installing the drive, thoroughly clean the mating surface of the hub and disc from rust and scale, as even the smallest particles sandwiched between the mating surfaces cause the disc runout and vibration during braking. |
HELPFUL ADVICE If you install the old drive, you delete a file on the shoulders of the working surfaces of the disk formed from both sides as a result of wear and tear. |
