Control automatic transmission
| Fig. 1.153. The switching circuit selector lever switch ranges
|
The starter may be included if the range switch is in the "P" (park) or ?N? (neutral) (Fig. 1.153). In the "P" (parking) range switch mechanically locked the front wheels from rotating.
ATTENTION Translation of the lever range switch to "P" (park), ?N? (neutral) or ?R? (reverse) while driving can damage the transmission. Translation stalk ranges in position ?D? (movement) or ?R? (Reverse) when the engine is running at speeds above idle can damage the transmission. |
If the lever is in position ?R? (reverse), reverse gear is engaged and the vehicle can move backward. Turn on and off the reverse gear is necessary only when the vehicle is stationary. Exceptions are rare cases when it is necessary to bring the car out of the jam by using the rocking. In position ?N? (neutral) none of the gears in the transmission is engaged and the front wheels are disconnected from the engine. The vehicle can roll freely even in the presence of a small slope of the road, unless the parking brake is not pressed or the brake pedal. NOTE To avoid unexpected pick-up car from the scene, or apply the parking brake, press the brake pedal before setting stalk ranges from position ?N? (neutral). |
Range ?D? (movement) is designed for normal driving. After pulling the car from a place and at least overclocking automatically sequential gearshift - first to fourth. The position "M" (manual switching) is designed to shift manually. The driver can switch the transmission sequentially to higher or lower gear by moving the lever in the appropriate direction.
