Overview

Drive shafts transmit torque from the engine, transmission and differential to the front wheels. In the gearbox drive shaft spline connection attached to the differential side gears. Fixation of the spline tip of the internal hinge of a power shaft side gear carried by a snap ring. When installing the lock ring is compressed into the groove of the shaft. After the shaft is fully installed in the differential side gear, the snap ring expands and fixes the slotted tip from axial movement. External hinges are attached to the drive shafts of front wheel hub mounted on bearings. The shaft is attached to the hub nut.
On the drive shaft from the differential set universal constant-velocity joint (CV joint) tripodnogo type, providing low vibration.
Constant velocity joints protected by rubber covers that attach clamps and protect against water and dirt.
Cases should be periodically inspected for signs of damage, leakage of the lubricant or cuts. Damaged covers CV joints should be replaced immediately with new, or CV joints can be damaged. Replacement sheath includes removing operation driveshafts. The signs of wear or damage to the CV joints, in addition to the leakage of the lubricant is click when driving and cornering, the roar when accelerating after coasting or vibration at high speeds on the highway.
Use Table 3.8 below to find the causes of faults. The numbers determine the priority Probable cause. Check each part in order. If necessary, replace these parts.
