Removal, check and installation of clutch
Withdrawal Remove the gearbox in unit with the main gear. Remove the cover clutch fork. Remove the release fork assembly. Remove the clamp clutch release bearing. Remove the clutch release bearing from the gearbox.
| Fig. 3.11. Removing and installing clutch: 1 - slave cylinder clutch; 2 - a box of gear; 3 - Case forks; 4 - release bearing; 5 - clutch fork; 6 - clutch cover; 7 - the clutch plate; 8 - flywheel
|
Loosen each bolt at a time, one turn, before easing to a spring.
ATTENTION Keep the clutch disc, the surface of the pressure plate and flywheel from falling on them oil and foreign objects. |
Using a special tool, remove the thrust bearing of a primary shaft of a transmission.
NOTE Do not remove the thrust bearing of the primary shaft of the gearbox, if not replace it. |
Install the special tool to hold the flywheel from turning.
Remove the flywheel bolts in the sequence shown in Figure 3.13.
Check Check the clutch cover.
| Fig. 3.14. Measuring the depth of wear of the petals of the diaphragm spring
|
Using vernier calipers, measure the depth of wear of the petals of the diaphragm spring (Fig. 3.14). Limits wear depth A: 0.6 mm.
| Fig. 3.15. Measuring the gap between the pressure plate and ruler
|
Using a ruler and a feeler gauge, measure the gap between the pressure plate and line, as shown in Figure 3.15. Maximum clearance: 0.5 mm. Set the dial gauge to the engine block.
| Fig. 3.16. Measurement of deviation peaks petals diaphragm spring
|
Rotate the flywheel, measure the deviation of the vertex of petals of the diaphragm spring (Fig. 3.16). The maximum deviation from the plane of 0.6 mm. If the measured value does not meet the established norm, replace the clutch cover. Check clutch plate.
| Fig. 3.17. Measurement of friction linings clutch plate
|
Using calipers, check the thickness of the friction linings on both sides of the disc clutch release with respect to the rivet heads (Fig. 3.17). The minimum lining thickness: 0.3 mm. If the thickness of the lining is less than the minimum, replace the drive.
Maximum runout: 0.7 mm. If the runout exceeds the norm, replace the drive.
Exerting pressure on the axial thrust bearing, turn it (Fig. 3.19). If the bearing seizes or there is significant resistance to rotation, replace the bearing.
NOTE Sealed bearings do not require washing or greasing. |
Exerting pressure on the axial thrust bearing of a primary shaft gearbox, rotate it. If the bearing seizes or there is significant resistance to rotation, replace the bearing.
Using a dial indicator, check runout of the flywheel (Fig. 3.20). Maximum runout: 0.2 mm. If the runout exceeds the norm, replace a flywheel.
Setting Install the flywheel on the crankshaft. If you use the old bolts to remove remnants of the old sealant from the threaded holes for the bolts of the flywheel on the crankshaft and flywheel bolts. Apply sealant to flywheel bolts and install them.
NOTE If you install a new bolt, do not apply the sealant on it. |
Wrap by hand bolts of a flywheel. Fix a flywheel from turning by using special devices.
| Fig. 3.21. Order of a tightening of bolts of fastening of a flywheel
|
Tighten the bolts in two or three passes in the sequence shown in Figure 3.21. Tightening torque: 108-115 Nm. Using special devices, install a new thrust bearing of a primary shaft of a transmission.
Install the clutch plate and fix its position with the help of devices for centering disc (3.22). Install the clutch cover. Install special devices.
| Fig. 3.23. Order of a tightening of bolts of fastening of a press disk
|
In regular intervals and gradually tighten bolts of a press disk in the sequence shown in the diagram (Fig. 3.23). The inhaling moment: 18,6-25,5 Nm. Install the clutch release bearing in the gearbox. Install clamp clutch release bearing on the bearing. Apply grease to the contact surface of the clutch and clutch fork, fork and push rod and supports plug. Apply grease to splines and coupling on the drive shaft splines. Install the release fork with the release bearing in the gearbox.
NOTE After installation, move the fork back and forth to check for smooth movement of the release bearing. |
Install the cover clutch fork. Install transmission.
