Check and adjust clearance in the valve mechanism in the engine M 123 and M 110

 | Adjust the valve clearance on the engine M 123 |
| - Remove the head cover and remove the spark plug.
| - Rotate the crankshaft pulley, set the piston of the first cylinder in the top dead center so that the intake valve is closed (top cam projection directed upwards).
| - Set of shims (see. Table), check the clearance between the neck and the back of the cam lever. If the gap is correct, then the probe should enter with a slight pinching. If not, loosen the locknut and turn the adjusting bolt with a wrench Achieve proper clearance. After adjustment, tighten the lock nut bolt.
| - If the adjustment bolt can not obtain the required clearance may be replaced by a push on the head of the valve stem.
| - Repeat this operation on the rest of the inlet valves in the sequence 1-5-3-6-2-4; then in the same way to adjust the exhaust valves.
| - Pay special attention to the location of the valves.
