When the work is guided by Fig. 4.46 and 4.52. Remove the battery after disconnecting wires. Remove the mounting block under the hood of the engine and take it to the side without disconnecting the wires. Remove the air duct. Put the car on a support so that the front wheels do not touch the ground. Drain the oil from the gearbox (Fig. 4.50). Remove the wheel and the left wheel mudguard. Disconnect from a transmission electrical connectors, wires, selector cable forced reverse gear. Remove the drive shafts of the front wheels (see. Below). Remove the starter motor (see. Sec. "Electrical"). Disconnect the transaxle case masloprivody. Remove the protective sheet and the back cover of the torque converter. Unscrew and remove the bolt torque converter available (Fig. 4.51). Then use the socket wrench extension and rotate the crankshaft pulley and unscrew
the remaining three screws on the converter to the master disk as they become available. Install stand crossbar and between the central engine, maintaining powerplant. Set to support the gearbox hydraulic jack. Remove the rear, then left suspension brackets transmission. Unscrew the transmission to the engine and remove it from the bottom of the engine compartment, while holding the torque converter.

Check the distance between the fastening torque converter housing and the mating surface of an automatic transmission with the engine
Fig. 4.53. Check the distance between the fastening torque converter housing and the mating surface of an automatic transmission to the engine: X - should be at least 21.1 m

When installing the transmission, replace all removed seals, O-rings, gaskets and self-locking nuts. Grease with a thin layer of oil edge of new seals before installing them into the holes input drive shaft transmission. Check the distance between the fastening torque converter and the mating surface of an automatic transmission with the engine (Fig. 4.53).
Installation operations gearbox follow in reverse order of removal.
After installing the transmission fill in its housing required amount of oil, preferably warm. When filling oil selector lever must be in position ?N? or "P". Start up the engine. Check the operation of the gearbox and the engine idling during a test drive in the car.
