On cars establish collapsible steering system (Fig. 6.1) with the steering rack pinion type. The steering mechanism is attached to the cross member of the body. The steering shaft is in two parts interconnected by a universal joint. The steering wheel is adjustable for height. Steering transmission includes two tie rods connected by hinges with adjustable cams. Power consisting of the power cylinder and rotary distributor combined with power steering. Power steering pump vane type driven by the crankshaft pulley Poly-V belt for vehicles with petrol engine and a conventional V-belt for vehicles with diesel engines. The turning radius of the car, m: with petrol engines: 9.6 diesel 10.4 The number of turns of the steering wheel between the extreme positions: with petrol engines: 3.17 diesel: 2.95 Total steering gear ratio of 17.1: 1 Operating pressure hydraulic pump 7,497-8,075 MPa (76,5-82,4 kg / cm2)
