Disconnect the battery. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Disconnect all wires from the generator, and carry them away. On the diesel engine disconnect hoses from the vacuum pump. Drain the part of the coolant, and then disconnect the radiator inlet hose.
Disconnect in the area of fastening of the generator and the wiring harness without disconnecting the connectors, take him aside. On vehicles with air conditioner, carefully remove the side lines without disconnecting them. Loosen the belt tension generators, which release the locking bolt, and then release the tension adjustment bolt
(Fig. 8.1 and
8.2). Remove the belt from the alternator pulley. Remove the generator retaining bolt, then the lower bolt. In diesel engines, disconnect from the generator vacuum pump.
Install in reverse order of removal. Adjust the belt tension. Top up the coolant and remove air pockets.
