Disassembly and assembly of the generator is not difficult if you follow Fig. 8.3, which shows a sequence for removing and installing parts. When viewed from the details, check: - The state of the brushes, the degree of wear, fit the brushes to the slip rings and brushes contact pressure; - The appearance of slip rings. Clean the rings with a clean cloth soaked in gasoline or trichlorethylene. Stripping slip rings allowed only fine-grained sandpaper;
A WARNING It does not use for this purpose a coarse paper. |
- The condition of bearings. They do not require maintenance since they contain long-life grease; - The appearance of the rotor and stator. Make sure that they do not have continuity of winding and traces of burning.
WARNINGS The electrical characteristics of the generator in any case should not be checked in the circuit with a voltage of 14 V. Otherwise, some elements of the generator may be damaged. Generator Rectifier diodes are very sensitive to temperature, so when you replace them produce soldering as quickly as possible, using low-power soldering iron.
