Lift the front of the car and put it on a support. Remove the right wheel, mudguard and shield crankcase. Drain the cooling system. Remove the upper radiator hose, accessories belts, timing belt drive. Remove the sprocket from the crankshaft and remove the key. Remove the front exhaust pipe and its lining. Remove the bottom rail, traction between the engine and gearbox oil sump, the front cover of the cylinder with oil pump. Make sure there are no burrs on the gears and pump body. Check the technical condition of the oil pump in the same manner as described in Sec. "Gasoline Engines." The gaps in the mechanism of the pump (Fig. 3.27) must be: - Between the end of the driven gear and the plane of the pump housing 0.05-0.09 mm; - Between the outer diameter of the driven gear and the housing bore 0,12-0,2 mm; - Between the teeth of the gear is not more than 0.18 mm. Place the pump in the reverse order of removal. At the same time carry out the following work: - Replace without hesitation Phillips screws if they have been thwarted; - Lubricate with engine oil all parts of the pump; - Replace the cover O-ring reducing valve; - Replace the oil pan gasket in places out of the crankshaft; - Replace radial seal in crankshaft; - Apply a layer of sealing paste to clean the mating surface of the housing of the oil pump and oil pan; - Pour in the engine oil specified quality; - Fill liquid cooling system and bleed the circuit; - Start the engine and make sure there are no leaks of coolant and oil.
