Removal and dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Loosen the nut of the front wheel.
  2. Poddomkratte the front of the car and establish it on props, the institution under the frame side members. Remove the front wheel.
  3. Remove the wheel hub and the drive shaft.
  4. Remove the cotter pin and take the castellated nut on the ball joint (s), tie rod (rod) to the steering knuckle arm. Attach the swing arm to the ear or podboyku striker hammer and tapping on the ear on the opposite side, from the knock lever pin (s) of the ball joint (s).
  5. Give bolts of covers of the upper and lower bearing assembly and remove the caps from the shims with the knuckle. Label the lid and gaskets - the assembly must be installed in the same position.
  6. Give bolts omentum flap. try to remember adjusting position of the locking bolt rotation and the number of turns required for its eversion. Remove shields.
  7. Remove the knuckle from a pin axle housing, then remove the support ring, oil seal and wiper.
  8. With the help of a pin punch, remove the bridge cup upper and lower bearings and plugs.

Cleaning and checking the status of components

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Rinse all components with the exception of seals in the cleaning solvent and dry them with compressed air.

To avoid personal injury or damage to the bearings do not rotate them, blowing with compressed air.

  1. Check the bearings and cups in the presence of cavities, signs of wear or damage. If necessary, replace.
  2. Inspect the steering knuckle and the axle pin for signs of wear, cracks and other damage. Small remove burrs using a whetstone.
  3. Check the oil seal and wiper seals for cracks and other damage.

The drafters of the Guidelines recommend to replace the oil seal and wiper knuckle regardless of their status. If the bearing cover gasket needs to be replaced, you must remove it from the bearing cone.

  1. Replace any defective parts.

Assembly and installation

If the description of the procedure is specifically agreed type of lubricant, it means the use of a universal lithium-based grease.

Installation is the reverse order of removal.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Install new plugs and cups of the upper and lower bearing pin of the bridge, using for this purpose the tubular knockout (see. Accompanying illustration).
  1. Coat the lips and the outer wall of the gland knuckle and fit wiper, oil seal and bearing ring on a pin of the bridge.
  2. Lubricate the pin of the bridge and set her knuckle. Do not install in a fist gland at this stage of assembly.
  3. Tamp cones of the upper and lower bearings lubricated bearing assembly and install the shims on the knuckle (in his previous position) and tighten the mounting bolts.
  4. Install the knuckle to the straight-ahead position, the ear hook steelyard pivot arm, placing it at an angle of 90 ?� to the arm about 170 mm from the center line of the bridge (see. Accompanying illustration).

  1. Measure the force required to rotate the fist on the trunnion axle. If the result is outside the range 0.6 ÷ 1.75 kgf, correct, picking shims cups of the upper and lower bearings of the new thickness.

Make sure that the total thickness of shims top and bottom covers were identical in order to prevent violations of the provisions of centering knuckle.

  1. Tighten the bearing caps with effort 30 ÷ 40 Nm. Put about 50 grams of grease on the outer surface of the oil seal and wiper, and response surface knuckle.
  2. Set in the knuckle bearing ring, oil seal and wiper assembly, make sure that the slot locks the support ring and wiper are in the bottom of the knuckle assembly. Set panels and turning the locking bolt in his previous position.
  3. Connect the ball joint (s) of the steering rod (rod) to the pivot arm, and tighten the castellated nut (s) with a force of 46 ÷ 54 Nm. Install new cotter pin (s).
  4. Replace the wheel hub and the drive shaft.
