Service semiaxes
| To replace the bearing require spanner 58.2 mm and press to the base plate. |
Refitting | For lubrication, use of multi-purpose grease on lithium based, unless otherwise stated specifically in the description of the procedure. |
Withdrawal | - Poddomkratte back of the car and establish it on props. Remove the rear wheel.
- On models with drum brakes rear wheel assembly, remove the drum from the axle shaft and remove the brake pipe from the rear of the wheel cylinder. Plug the pipe and fitting the cylinder to prevent the ingress of dirt into the hydraulic system.
- On models with rear disc brakes (see. Accompanying illustration) Give fixing bolts, remove the caliper from the chassis and tie it to the side of the wire to the suspension elements.
- Remove the flange half-axis brake disc with caliper support bracket - dust screen.
- Give nuts of fastening the bearing housing to the semi-axis and rear axle housing with a hammer with sliding brisk remove the assembly axis.
| If a hammer with sliding brisk were not available, replace the brake drum / disc into place on the half-free and screw the wheel nuts, and then use a drum / disc as moving the striker hammer (do not knock on it with the conventional hammer). |
- On models with drum brakes rear wheels, remove the shims and boot from the bearing housing. Discard the boot.
| - On models with disc brakes rear (see. Accompanying illustration), remove the half-line flange O-ring and discard it.
|
- With the lever, remove the inner gland semi-axis of the axle.
|
|
Setting Installation is in the reverse order. | - Lubricate the lips of the new oil seal and install the seal into the axle housing.
- On models with rear disc brakes complete the following procedures:
- Coat the new O-ring and install it in the axle housing.
- Install the axle shaft, - try not to damage the oil seal with the inner. Tighten the mounting nut with a force of 53 ÷ 63 Nm.
- Install the brake disc and caliper mounting bolts and tighten with effort 38 ÷ 52 Nm.
- On models with Drum Brake:
- Install the brake shield on the axle housing and firmly secure the brake pipe.
- Replace the bearing housing the new boot, then insert one axle shaft, taking care not to damage the inner gland. Do not install shims at this stage.
- Screw nuts axis and tighten them with a force of 53 ÷ 63 Nm.
- Replace the bearing housing opposite the semi-axis and set a new boot shims total thickness of 1.6 mm. Insert the axle shaft, taking care not to damage the inner gland.
| Make sure that the shims are not appeared set between anther and the bearing housing. |
- Tighten the nuts to lock the half-axis of the bearing housing in the brake shield. Otherwise, the semi-axis will be jammed.
| If the axle shaft begins to jam, do not tighten the nut on, as this can cause damage to the bearing housing. |
- Fix the dial gauge on the brake shield to the end of the plunger flange axis and measure the axial play of the latter.
- Choose the desired thickness of shims and install them, ensuring the value of the axial backlash in the 0.02 ÷ 0.15 mm. Washers must not be installed between the dust lip and the bearing housing.
| The magnitude of axial play is increased with the addition of shims, and vice versa. The difference in the thickness of shims sets the left and right axle shafts not exceed one millimeter. If necessary, remove the puck from one set and add it to another. |
- Tighten the nuts with a half-axis force 53 ÷ 63 Nm and repeat paragraph (f).
- Install the brake drum and bleed the hydraulic system.
|
|
Bearing Replacement | - Remove the axle shaft.
- Hold axle shaft in a vice and bend the lock washer tabs bearing nuts.
- With wrench 58.2 mm give the nut and discard the bearing retainer.
- Install the axle shaft in the press, resting support plates bearing cover (on models with rear drum brakes), a support bracket support (on models with disc brakes rear wheels. Squeeze the axle shaft from the bearing housing.
- On models with drum brakes rear wheels (see. Accompanying illustration), remove the bearing housing oil seal and discard it. Also remove the spacer ring from the axle shaft.
- On models with rear disc brakes, remove the half-axis of the outer bearing inner race axis, packing and spacer ring. Discard the oil seal.
- With a brass drift, remove the bearing housing from the outer race of the bearing.
- Inspect the axle shaft for cracks, wear and signs of strain. Particular attention should be paid to the state of splines.
- Also check for signs of wear, cracks and other damage to the bearing housing.

|
| Installing Bearing in reverse order. - With a brass drift plant outer race of the bearing in the housing firmly in hanger.
- Type in the bearing (s), and the space between the oil seal lips high temperature multi-purpose grease on lithium basis. When lubricating the bearing (s) thoroughly grease fills in the gaps between the rollers, the inner race and the cage.
- On models with rear disc brakes:
- Set in a casing of the outer bearing inner ring, and then use a suitable mandrel thread the gland into the housing until it stops at the shoulders.
- Put spacer ring onto the axle shaft and a support arm, and then press-fit in the axle shaft bearing outer ring resting in the frame and taking care not to damage the oil seal.
- Type in the space between the gland and remote ring of high-temperature multi-purpose grease on lithium basis.
- On models with rear drum brakes put to the half-spacer ring and bearing housing, then use a brass drift or a tube section, Put the inner ring onto the axle shaft.
- Install the lock washer, lubricate the contact surface of the mounting nut and tighten the nut with a force of 441 ÷ 490 Nm. Fold one of the tabs lock washer.
- Hold axle shaft, rotate three times the bearing housing assembly, checking the freedom of rotation.
- Install the axle shaft in the axle housing.
