Overview
On cars Golf III / Vento sets out five options for diesel engines with a displacement of 1.9 liters. On the basis of atmospheric pre-chamber diesel engines with direct fuel injection and were created turbocharged diesel models AAZ, 1Z, AFN, AHU. Later, on the basis of a turbodiesel direct injection engine has been created 1,9 TDI with four valves per cylinder. All engines except the 1Z and AFN, equipped with a mechanical fuel injection. Recently equipped with a digital control system of the engine (TSSUD). All engines satisfy standards for content of harmful substances in the exhaust gases, including through the use of the catalyst with the oxygen sensor. All these are water-cooled engines, a camshaft, four cylinders arranged in a row, cast iron from a special negilzovanny block and the cylinder head from an aluminum alloy. Diesel engine as gasoline, is located transversely in front of the vehicle, the transmission is on the left of the engine. On the cylinder head camshaft is driven in rotation by a toothed belt. The head also has inlet and outlet valves which are closed by a single or double coil spring and move in the guide bushings pressed into the cylinder head. The camshaft actuates the valves directly via hydraulic jacks mounted in the cylinder head. The cylinder head has oil passages through which the oil to lubricate the tappets. On engines AAZ, 1Y are arranged in the cylinder head replaceable vortex chambers. On engines 1Z (direct injection engine) of the combustion chamber formed through the appropriate form piston head. The crankshaft is installed in five indigenous pillars, and his play is limited to thrust bearing located between the second and third cylinders. All diesel engines have an intermediate shaft, which is driven by a belt drive and a camshaft drive is required for the vacuum brake booster pump and oil pump. Engine coolant is pumped driven by a drive belt auxiliary units. The lubricant is circulated under pressure created by the pump, which is driven by a crank or by an intermediate shaft depending on engine type. The oil from the oil pan is sucked through a strainer, and then fed to an externally mounted replaceable spin-on filter. From there, the oil flows into the unit, where lubricates the main bearings, the heads of rods, piston pins and mirrors engine cylinders and cylinder head, which lubricates the bearing neck of a camshaft and hydraulic tappets. The base of each cylinder mounted oil nozzle - they spray oil on the bottom surfaces of the pistons, improving cooling. Oil cooler, which receives engine coolant, reduces the temperature of the oil before it enters the engine. When working with a diesel engine in any case do not let diesel fuel cooling hoses, and if it does happen, immediately wipe them with a clean cloth. Hoses that are in contact with the fuel, must be necessarily replaced.
