Performance Verification
Test conditions Minimum voltage on the battery should be 11.5 V. SD34 fuse in the fuse block on the right in the front panel to be functional. The control unit of the fuel pump must be in good condition.
Engines BLR, BLX, BLY Low fuel pressure sensor must be defective.
Checking procedure Remove the rear seat.

|
1 Remove the cover from the control unit of the fuel pump 2 to the fuel supply unit (Fig. 2.204).
Connect the remote control through the auxiliary wire to pin 1 (+) of the fuel pump and to pin 1 (+) - 10-pin connector (Fig. 2.209). Connect the terminals 6 (-) - 10-pin connector and 5 (-) of the fuel pump of the auxiliary cable kit auxiliary measuring means. Remove the filler cap of the fuel tank. Disconnect the fuel feed line 2 and beneath the escaping fuel rags.
NOTE To disconnect the fuel line, click on the lock ring. |
Connect the manometer with double nipple and a set of adapters to the fuel feed (Fig. 2.210). Fit the adapter hose adapter gauge and keep it pointed in a measuring vessel.
ATTENTION When you open the faucet there is a danger of fuel spray; to avoid injuries and skin contact, wear protective goggles and gloves. Substitute under an open connection capacity gauge. |
Open the valve pressure gauge. The lever indicates direction of flow A. Enable remote control. It should slowly close the tap until the pressure gauge will show 4 bar overpressure. After this, the valve position does not change. Empty the measuring container. The performance of the fuel pump depends on the battery voltage. Therefore connect the multimeter wires from a set of auxiliary measurement means to the battery. Turn on the remote control for 30 C at the same time, measure the battery voltage.
Example: During check battery voltage is measured, ravnoe12,5 V. As the voltage on pump 2 at lower battery voltage, the minimum amount of feed is about 580 cm 3/30 sec. *) - Minimum performance cm 3/30 **) - Voltage at fuel pump with engine stopped and the pump is running (about 2 less than battery voltage). If the setpoint pressure is not achieved, check the fuel line for kinks and blockages. If no fault is found, remove the fuel delivery unit and check the strainer for contamination. If also here no errors are found, replace the fuel filter flange Repeat the test. If nominal value is not reached again, faulty fuel pump, replace the fuel delivery module. Nominal capacity of fuel is reached, however, a fault in the power supply system has not yet ruled out (eg. A temporary failure of the power supply system) Check the current consumption of the fuel pump.
Check power Checking procedure Remove the rear seat. 1 Remove the cover from the control unit of the fuel pump 2 to the fuel supply unit (Fig. 2.204).
Connect multimeter using current clamp A to the wire in the terminal 1 the 5-pin plug connector (Fig. 2.212). Start the engine and leave it idling. Measure the power consumption of the fuel pump. The nominal value of max. 9 A.
NOTE If an error occurs in the power supply only from time to time, the check can also be carried out during the test drive, but this requires a second specialist. |
If power is exceeded, then faulty fuel pump, replace the fuel delivery module.
