Start the gasoline engine
Start petrol engine (models with manual gearbox) is as follows: - Depress the clutch pedal; - Set the gear lever to the neutral position; - Do not press the accelerator pedal; - Turn the ignition key to start the engine (see. Resp. Section); - Hold on until the starter motor until the engine runs, but never keep it on for more than 10 seconds at each start. To improve the start-up, turn the key to position II and sustain for 1 second to give the petrol pump to build up pressure in the fuel line. Then, turn the key to the start position. Start petrol engine (model with automatic gearbox) is as follows: - Check that the handle is in the P (or N cocked parking brake); - Turn the ignition key to start the engine (see. Acc. Sec.); - Do not press the accelerator pedal; - As soon as the engine starts, release the key; - Depress the brake pedal and set the gear selection lever to the desired position; - Wait until you feel that the engine starts to "pull", showing the inclusion of the selected gear, then release the brake pedal (and / or handbrake) and press the accelerator pedal. In engines with fuel injection adjustment period of warming up is made automatically by electronic switches, so the procedure is the same as the starter for the cold and for warm engine.
