Replacing the brake fluid in hydraulic brake and clutch
According to the recommendations of the manufacturer to replace the brake fluid should be 30 thous. Km or 3 years of operation (whichever comes first). HELPFUL ADVICE Brake fluid is highly hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air that, in addition to the corrosion of the braking system, lowers the boiling point of the fluid, and it can lead to brake failure with frequent heavy braking. Therefore, we recommend to replace the brake fluid every year in the spring. |
You will need: the keys "9", "10", brake fluid, rubber or transparent hose transparent vessel. NOTE The valves to bleed air from the working cylinders of the rear wheels are made turn-key "9" front - turn-key "10". |
HELPFUL HINTS Replace the brake fluid is recommended with an assistant, after setting the vehicle on a pit or rack (no need to remove the wheel). Use brake fluid corresponding to the class DOT-4. Priority replacement fluid in the brake mechanisms: - Rear right; - The front left; - Rear left; - Front right. |
WARNINGS Do not use the drained again: it is contaminated, saturated with air and moisture. Always top up the system only new fluid of the brand, which has been flooded before. Brake fluid is hygroscopic (absorbs moisture from the air), so it can not be stored in an open container. Protect the environment! Do not drain the brake fluid used in the soil or the sewer system. A WARNING Slow down the car and set the parking brake at the rear wheel chocks ("boots"). |
| | 3. Clean dirt from the air release valves and remove the protective caps of valves working cylinders of the front brake ... | 4. ... and rear wheels. |
| | 5. Wear rubber hose to vent valve working cylinder brake right rear wheel and immerse the end of the hose into a clean glass container. | 6. The assistant should sharply push the brake pedal four to five times (with an interval between pressing 1-2), and then hold the pedal down. |
7. Remove the 1 / 2-3 / 4 turn vent valve. From the hose will start to follow the old (dirty) brake fluid. The brake pedal at this time is to gradually reach the stop. Once the liquid stops flowing, tighten the air vent.
NOTE Watch out for the liquid level in the tank, preventing its reduction to a label ?�MIN?� on the reservoir. If necessary, top up with new brake fluid to prevent the entry of air into the hydraulic actuator. This provides a gradual replacement of the old fluid with new without draining the hydraulic system. |
8. In the same way, replace the brake fluid in the working cylinder brake left front wheel. 9. Then replace the brake fluid in the second circuit (first in the working cylinder brake left rear wheel, and then the right front). 10. Repeat steps 5-9 to complete the replacement of the liquid in the drive (with a hose should follow clear liquid with no air bubbles). 11. After replacing the brake fluid is required to wear protective caps on the vent valves. 12. Check the quality of the work performed: press several times on the brake pedal - the pedal travel and force on it must be the same each time. If not, go back to the procedures 5-9. | | 13. To replace the brake fluid in hydraulic clutch, remove the cap from the valve to remove the air of the working cylinder. | 14. Put the hose on the valve and lower the end into a container with a small amount of brake fluid. Ask the assistant to press the clutch pedal 4-5 times at intervals of 2-3 seconds, and then hold it. Remove the fitting 3/4 of a turn. From the hose into the container will leave the old (dirty) brake fluid. |
15. Tighten the valve and ask the assistant to release the clutch pedal. 16. Repeat steps 14 and 15 to complete replacement of the fluid in hydraulic clutch (the hose should follow clear liquid with no air bubbles).
A WARNING During pumping hydraulic drive periodically check the fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir, general Hydraulic brake and clutch. Do not drop the liquid level in it below the mark "MIN". Timely top up liquid, or in the air will fall and it will have to pump. |
17. Tighten the valve, put on the protective cap. 18. Top up the brake fluid to a level between the marks ?�MIN?� and ?�MAX?� markings on the reservoir and tighten the plug. 19. Install the parts in reverse order of removal.
