Checking and topping up the brake fluid in the brake fluid reservoir

You will need: brake fluid, clean cloth.

HELPFUL HINTS
The type of fluid - DOT-3 and DOT-4.
We recommend checking the level before each departure, and if necessary add a liquid in a tank. If you top up the brake fluid in the reservoir is often necessary to immediately repair (see. Sec. 9 "Brakes").
When replacing the brake fluid in the system, make a note of the brand of liquid to be filled to refill use the same brand.

The tank is mounted on the brake cylinder on the left side of the engine compartment at the bulkhead.

A WARNING
Use caution when working with brake fluid: it is toxic.

HELPFUL HINTS
In order to not expose themselves to future unforeseen expenses for repair brake system, and then the whole vehicle as a whole, promptly replace the brake fluid fresh. It is very hygroscopic and absorbs moisture from the air that, in addition to the corrosion of the braking system, lowers the boiling point of the fluid, and it can lead to brake failure with frequent heavy braking.
Do not use the drained fluid from the system again: it is contaminated, saturated with air and moisture.
Hit the brake fluid on the wire, plastic or painted parts of the body can cause damage, so when pouring Always put a clean cloth. If the liquid gets on these details immediately wipe them with a clean cloth.

1. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. It must be between the ?MIN? and ?MAX?, marked on the tank.
2. If the level is below the mark ?MIN?, loosen the tank cap ...

A WARNING
The gradual decrease in the level of brake fluid in the absence of leakage points is likely to need to replace the brake pads. Check the condition of the brake pads (see. "Check the wear of brake pads, discs and drums"). Failure to replace the pad leads to costly repairs (replacement of brake discs, drums, calipers)!

3. ... and add brake fluid to a label ?MAX?.
4. Then tighten the tank cap, wipe up spills with a clean cloth.
