Malfunctions in the system start-up
Malfunctions in the system start-up manifested in the abnormal operation of a starter. There are five main faults starter. 1. Starter does not turn on. Causes - a violation of contact connections, open or short circuit in the starter, the traction relay fault. 2. When the starter heard multiple clicks. Causes - faulty restraint winding traction relay, deeply discharged battery, loose terminal connections in the starter circuit. 3. The starter is turned on, but his anchor or does not rotate, or rotates slowly. Causes - discharged battery, violated contact connections, scorched contact traction relay, dirty or worn collector brush or interturn short circuit in the windings. 4. The starter is activated, its anchor is rotated, but the flywheel does not move. Reasons - to loose the starter clutch housing, damage to the teeth of the flywheel or drive gear, slipping the overrunning clutch actuator arm damage, flanged sleeves or buffer spring starter motor. 5. The starter does not turn off after starting the engine. The reasons - failure freewheel starter, sticking contacts of the traction relay. In the event of a fault, stop the engine immediately! These faults require skilled intervention in the service station or in a garage on arrival (see. Sec. 10 "Electrical"). Pre can only check the degree of discharge of the battery with a voltmeter (eg, as part of avtotestera) and tightness of contact connections in a chain of a starter.
