Replacing the engine oil Change the oil must be carried out immediately after a trip to the still hot engine to better oil flew down together with pollution.
A WARNING When replacing the engine oil, be careful not to burn yourself as the oil is hot. |
Start up the engine and warm up to normal operating temperature. Stop the engine.
| Fig. 13. Location drain plug
|
Remove the oil filler cap to the cylinder head cover. Place the container for oil gathering under the oil drain plug and unscrew the plug (Fig. 1.3). If necessary, press a stopper when unscrew that oil did not proceed prematurely, and drain the engine oil. When the oil is completely drained, wipe it around the drain plug and tighten the plug with a new seal. Tightening torque drain plug - 35-45 Nm.
A WARNING Do not overfill the engine oil above the mark "MAX", as this causes it to foam and reducing the pressure in the engine lubrication system. |
Fill the engine through the oil filler neck with the recommended oil. Close the filler cap. Start up the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for leaks around the oil drain plug on the pallet. Keep in mind that the control lamp of emergency pressure of oil can burn some seconds (until the oil fills the entire lubrication system). Stop the engine and wait some minutes that oil has flown down in the pallet. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
Changing the oil filter Special wrench, remove the oil filter.
| Fig. 14. Place grease O-ring (1) Oil Filter
|
Clean the installation location of the oil filter on the engine block and screw the new oil filter, pre-lubricated with fresh engine oil filter O-ring (Fig. 1.4).
A WARNING When replacing the oil filter, be careful not to burn yourself, as the engine oil is hot. |
Replace the oil filter and tighten it to a torque of 12-16 Nm. Start up the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Check for oil leaks around the oil filter on the engine block. Stop the engine and wait some minutes that oil has flown down in the pallet. Check the oil level and top up if necessary.
Replacement air filter When using a car air filter is contaminated, which increases fuel consumption. If necessary, replace the air filter with new one. Open the retaining clips securing the air filter cover. Remove the air filter cover. Remove the air filter. Install a new air filter and secure the cover locks.
Cooling system Check the cooling system for damaged hoses, loose or leaking connections or other reasons coolant leaks. At the factory the engine cooling system fueled a 50% solution of ethylene glycol in the water. Since the cylinder head and the water pump housing made of aluminum alloy, make 30-60% concentration of ethylene glycol to provide protection against corrosion and freezing.
WARNINGS If the concentration is less than 30% antifreeze, its anticorrosive properties deteriorate. If the concentration of more than 60%, reduced frost protection and cooling of the engine, which adversely affects the performance of the engine. Therefore maintain the concentration level within a specified range. Operate the engine until the coolant is completely mixed. After reducing the temperature of the coolant (antifreeze) measure its temperature and density. Determine the concentration and a safe operating temperature. If the coolant is not enough glycol bring its concentration to 50%. |
Substitution coolant Set the temperature control air supplied to the interior of the vehicle, to the "HOT" (hot air). Remove the radiator cap.
A WARNING When removing the radiator cap on a hot engine precautions must be taken, as the emerging vapors can cause severe burns. To do this, close the cover of the expansion tank with a thick layer of tissue and by turning counterclockwise, slowly remove the lid until the hissing. After the cessation of fizz slowly unscrew and remove the cap from the radiator. |
Remove the drain plug coolant from the radiator and the engine. Drain the coolant. Wrap the drain plug of the radiator and the engine. Fill the radiator with coolant to the level of the filler neck. Fill coolant expansion tank to a label ?MAX?. Start up the engine and warm up until thermostat opens, then remove the radiator cap and check the coolant level. If the radiator is filled to the level of the filler neck, close the radiator cap. Fill coolant expansion tank up to the mark ?FULL?.
Replacing the high voltage High voltage wires should be periodically replaced with new ones. After replacing make sure are properly connected and are fully insulated high voltage cables of the ignition system and terminals.
A WARNING When disconnecting the high voltage ignition system is necessary to hold the tip. If you disconnect the wire, holding the cord, it may cause an open circuit. |
Replacement of the oxygen concentration sensor (oxygen sensor) An oxygen concentration sensor - a device based on signals which regulate the composition of the fuel mixture. If it is damaged, deteriorating composition of exhaust gases and handling, so the oxygen concentration sensor must be replaced.
Checking the oil in a mechanical transmission and its replacement Checking the oil level Examine each element of the gearbox for leaks and check the oil level by removing the filler plug. If the oil is dirty, replace it with a new one.
| Fig. 15. Location filler plug
|
Manual transmission is not equipped with a pointer (stylus) oil level. Park the car on a level surface and remove the filler plug. Pinky check the oil level, which should be at the lower edge of the threaded hole (Fig. 1.5). Make sure that the oil is not contaminated. Changing the oil in the gearbox After setting the vehicle on a level surface, remove the magnetic drain plug and drain the oil from the gearbox. Install a new gasket and screw cap. Fill with fresh oil through the filler hole up to the level of its lower edge.
Test the Steering Check the free running of the steering wheel. The maximum free stroke of the steering wheel - 30 mm. Check the steering system: - The tie rod must not be play; - Dust seals and covers must not be damaged; - Clamp on covers should be set very tight. Check the fluid level in the power steering system Place the vehicle on a flat surface. Start up the engine and the vehicle is stationary a few times, turn the steering wheel to and fro to warm liquid (oil) to 50 ? C. With the engine running at idle speed a few times turn a steering wheel from lock to lock. Check the fluid level in the absence of foaming. Check the fluid and if necessary through the oil filter, add it to the reservoir. Check the power steering hose Check the hoses for damage, abrasion or worn areas. Make sure the hose is not pinched by other components. Check the ball joints and steering shaft seals Ball joints and seals of the steering shaft are lubricated by manufacture and do not require additional lubricant. Damaged covers of hinges and gaskets must be replaced immediately to prevent leakage or contamination of the lubricant. Make sure the covers of hinges and seals are tight and have no leaks grease.
brake system Check hoses and tubes of brake system Check hoses and tubes of brake system should be carried out every time you check or repair the brakes. Check the hoses for the following damages: - Cracking of the surface tension, breaks or wear. If the fabric braid cracked or deteriorated so that the visible rubber hose, replace the hose; - The installation, twisted braids or damaged hose wheel, tire and suspension components. Check the brake pads Pads Front disc brakes - check the condition of the brake fluid and brake pad wear.
A WARNING If you hear the brakes screeching or scraping sound, check whether the contact pad wear indicator Brake pads with the brake disc and, if not, replace the brake pads. |
Always replace all the pads on the same axle of a vehicle, even if only one shoe is worn. If the brake pads will be repeatedly established, before removal they are necessary for marking.
The minimum thickness of the brake pad lining - 2 mm.
| Fig. 16. Measurement of thickness (A) of the brake shoe linings
|
Pads rear drum brake - Remove the brake drum and check the thickness of the brake shoe lining (Fig. 1.6). Hand check the system automatically adjust the brake pad clearance to make sure that it works smoothly and brake components are in the respective engagement with each other. To ensure smooth operation of the mechanism, apply a very thin layer of lubricant to the surface friction of the automatic adjustment of backlashes of brake pads and the connection axis. Check the caps of the brake cylinder for brake fluid leaks. Visually inspect the cap for cuts, breaks or cracks from overheating. A slight amount of liquid on the strip may not be the result of a leak, and the protecting liquid used in the assembly. The minimum thickness of the brake lining pads - 0.8 mm. Check brake fluid level Check brake fluid level in the master cylinder reservoir. It must be between the ?MAX? and ?MIN?. If the level is below the mark ?MIN?, add a fresh brake liquid to a label ?MAX?. Replacing brake fluid Before replacing the brake fluid Check the brake system for leaks. Remove the lid from the tank and fill it with fresh brake fluid reservoir to the upper mark. In the process of replacing the brake fluid, make sure that the brake fluid does not drop below the middle of the tank. Connect one end of the vinyl tube to the screw to remove the air, and the other end lower in the capacity. Several times slowly depress the brake pedal. While pressing the brake pedal, unscrew the screw to remove the air so that the liquid began to flow, and tighten the screw after the brake fluid will cease to flow. Repeat these steps until until it begins to flow fresh brake fluid. Repeat this procedure for the other wheels. Top up with fresh brake liquid to a label ?MAX? tank. Recommended brake fluid corresponding to DOT 3 or DOT 4.
Checking tire pressure Remove the cap from the valve. Pressure gauges to measure tire pressure. Pressure measurement spend on cold tires. The pressure in the tires 205/65 R15 - 2,1 kg / cm 2 . Coat the valve a little saliva. In the formation of the bubble tighten the valve cap back side. Recheck the valve. With further bubble formation and inability dovinchivaniya valve replace the valve. Be sure to screw the cap.
Road Test Take a trip to the car and check the following: - No oil leaks, fluid, water and exhaust gases; - Free the clutch pedal and brake pedal; - Operation of the vacuum brake booster; - Operation of the brake pedal and parking brake; - The course of the handbrake lever; - The dynamic characteristics of the engine; - The state of instrumentation, control lamps, lights, heater and fans; - No unusual noises.
