WARNINGS Cars equipped with safety systems (SRS), include airbags and belt tensioners. Before working around impact sensors, instrument panel and steering column disconnect at first negative, then positive terminal of the battery, and wait 2 minutes. This will prevent unauthorized disclosure of airbags and belt pretensioner, which could cause injuries. |
Removing and installing radio Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Use a screwdriver to detach from the instrument panel of the center console (see. Fig. 10.38).

Remove the four screws securing the radio and pull it from the slot (Fig. 10.40). On the rear of the recorder, disconnect the connector and antenna cable, then remove the tape recorder. Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
Cleaning the head and tape drive shaft To ensure optimal performance of the tape as necessary, clean the head and the drive shaft. Frequency of cleaning depends on the frequency of use of tape recorder and purity.

To clean the head and the capstan, use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol (Fig. 10.41). Clean the head and shaft.
Check the power supply of the antenna

Disconnect the power supply connector of the antenna from the engine (Fig. 10.42). Check the battery voltage between contacts "1" and "3" connector. Check to see if the battery voltage between the terminals "2" and "3" terminal when the ignition and the radio. Connect the power supply contacts "1" and "2" drive the antenna and make sure the antenna is pushed upward. Then disconnect the power supply of contact "2" drive the antenna and make sure that the antenna is moved down.
