Faults wipers, their possible causes and solutions are listed in Table. 10.10.
Table 10.10 Faults wipers, their possible causes and remedies
Removing and installing windscreen wiper
| Fig. 10.26. Front window cleaner: 1 - wiper motor and mechanism; 2 - nut, 18-23 Nm; 3 - the lever and brush
|
Unscrew the nuts and remove the wiper arms in gathering with brushes (Fig. 10.26).
A WARNING Be careful not to scratch the hood. |
Remove the screws and remove the top cover of the intake grille. Disconnect the connector from the front window wiper motor, remove the nuts and remove wiper motor and mechanism. Tightening torque - 7-11 Nm. Installation is spent to sequences, return to removal, taking into account the following. Install the wiper arms so that the lever on the driver's side is at a distance of 30 mm from the base of the glass, and the lever on the passenger side - at a distance 40 mm.
Checking the operation of the engine cleaner front window Check the electrical circuit Before you try to define a malfunction source, study the corresponding scheme of an electric equipment for representation reception about the elements in the chain. Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor, the wiper switch is on and check the probe tester to one of the pins a voltage of the battery. If these checks do not give positive results, it is necessary to address on servicing deport. If the wiper blades are moving slowly, check the charge status of the battery. If the battery is fully charged, remove the wiper motor and manually move the wiper arms. Check out all the wiper rod and lubricate their joints. If the wiper is still moving slowly, check the connectors and seat wiring for corrosion, especially at the joints with "weight". If all connections and plugs are in good condition, replace the wiper motor. When you turn on the windshield wipers do not work, check the fuse integrity. If the fuse is OK, an additional wire to connect the dots connection with "weight" on the motor and the negative terminal of the battery. If the wiper motor has started to work, reconnect the motor to "weight". If the engine still does not work, turn the wiper switch and check whether the voltage is supplied to the engine. If there is voltage at the terminals of the connector, remove the wiper motor and test it by connecting additional wires from the battery terminals. If the engine has started to work, check all the wiper rod and lubricate their joints. If no voltage is applied to the connector pins of the engine, check whether the voltage is applied to the relay contacts wiper. If voltage is applied to the relay contacts wiper, check the wiper switch. If the switch is OK, probably faulty relay. Remove the relay and check it. Check speed Disconnect the connector from the wiper motor. Additional wires connect the positive battery terminal to terminal "4" connector wiper motor and the negative terminal - to terminal "1". Make sure that the wiper motor is operating at low speed. Additional wires connect the positive battery terminal to terminal "4" connector wiper motor and the negative terminal - to terminal "2". Make sure the wiper motor running at high speed. Checking automatic stop Turn the wiper motor at low speed. Disconnect the wires from the contact "1", stop the wiper motor in any position other than the original. Connect contacts "1" and "5" connector. Additional wires connect the positive battery terminal to terminal "4" connector wiper motor and the negative terminal - to terminal "3". Check that the engine stops automatically in the starting position.
Testing the engine washer Fill the windshield washer tank with water. Additional wires connect the positive terminal of the battery to the terminal "2" terminal, and the negative terminal - to terminal "1" - the engine running and the pump - pump water. Make sure the engine is running evenly, without extraneous noise.
