Vacuum brake booster Check control valve

|
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum brake booster (Fig. 6.9). Start up the engine. Use your finger to cover the hole with a vacuum hose. If you feel a vacuum, then the control valve defective. Withdrawal Remove the brake master cylinder. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum brake booster. Remove the plunger with the brake pedal.

From the interior of the car, remove the nuts of the vacuum brake booster (Fig. 6.10). Remove the vacuum brake booster assembly. Setting Install the vacuum brake booster and master cylinder, tighten bolts, having tightened their demanded moment. Connect the vacuum hose to the brake servo. Connect the pushrod to the brake pedal and insert the pin into the finger. Fill the brake fluid reservoir and remove the air from a hydraulic drive of brakes.
A WARNING Do not attempt to disassemble the vacuum brake booster, as it is not serviceable. |
Brake tubes and hoses To transfer the brake fluid from the master cylinder to the wheel cylinders apply the brake pipes and hoses. The pipe from the brake cylinders and distributors made cone clutches. The ends of the tubes are crimped and have a tapered shape corresponding to the size of the tapered threaded hole in the brake cylinder or switchgear. Before crimping the ends of the tubes they put on the cap nut, which after screwing the tapered surface at the base of the cone presses the threaded hole and seals the tube. Brake hoses carry out mobile communications between mobile and fixed parts of the vehicle. To reduce the loss of brake fluid at removal of working brake cylinders used clips for clamping the brake hoses.
A WARNING In vehicles with the defective brake hose may be that they swell and, therefore, reduce cross-section of the hose or completely cover it, the outside of the hose does not noticeable. You notice it when the wheel brake is activated with delay and also releases this brake a little late, since the pressure can not immediately decrease due to a pipeline with a smaller diameter. Replace the hose, better all hoses at the same time. |
Check Check the brake lines for cracks, compression, and corrosion. Check the brake hoses for cracks, damage and leaks. Check the union nuts of brake tubes for damage and leaks. Setting Install the brake hoses, without twisting them. Brake pipes must be installed at a safe distance from the sharp edges, welds and / or moving parts. Tighten to torque. Tightening torques: - Coupling nuts - 13-17 Nm; - Fastening of a brake hose for Front Caliper - 25-30 Nm. When installing a new brake pipe or hose, make sure that they are firmly secured in the brackets. After installation, check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder, and if necessary, add it. Before starting the operation of a vehicle, remove the air from the brake system and check the operation of the brakes.
Brake pedal Withdrawal Remove the lower instrument panel trim.

Remove the steering column bracket. Remove the brake light switch and disconnect the connector from the switch on the clutch pedal (only on cars with automatic speed control). Remove the cotter pin and the washer on the right side of the brake pedal bracket. Remove the nut brake booster and remove the right arm of the brake pedal. Remove the brake pedal, moving it toward the driver. Remove the plug rod of the brake pedal and wave washer. Remove the bolt and nut on the brake pedal bracket and remove it. Check Check the brake pedal bushing for wear. Check the brake pedal for deformation. Check the brake pedal return spring for damage. Setting Installation is spent to sequences, return to removal, taking into account the following.

Before installing the pin put on a washer and a special lubricant (Fig. 6.12).
A WARNING On the inner surface of the plugs, apply special grease SAE J310, NLGI ?0. |
