Drive shaft with SHRUS type GI and AS .: 1 - a lock ring; 2 - joint housing GI; 3 - thrust ring; 4 - support rollers; 5 - a protective cover hinge GI; 6 - large clamp protective cover of the hinge GI; 7 - a small clamp protective cover of the hinge GI; 8 - a nut, 200-280 Nm; 9 - dust cover; 10 - constant velocity joint AS assembly; 11 - a protective cover of the hinge AS .; 12 - large clamp protective cover of the hinge AS .; 13 - small clamp protective cover hinge AS
|
Side cutters, cut the large clamps protective covers of hinges GI and AC and remove them (Fig. 3.63). Remove the small collars of fastening of protective covers of hinges of GI and AC
| Fig. 3.64. Places tagging determining the relative position of the yoke AS and support rollers
|
Paint or marker mark the relative position of the yoke AS and support rollers (Fig. 3.64).
A WARNING When applying labels that determine the relative position of the yoke AS and support rollers, do not use the core. |
Remove the hinge AS with the drive shaft.
| Fig. 3.60. Removing the retaining ring (1) for support rollers hinge type TJ
|
Remove the thrust ring mounting support rollers to the drive shaft (see. Fig. 3.60). Paint or marker note mutual position of the support rollers hinge AS and the drive shaft. Brass hammer through a drift bring down support rollers with the drive shaft, while being careful not to damage the shaft splines and rollers. Remove collars of fastening of a protective cover of the hinge AS and remove the protective cover of the hinge GI and AC
Check Check the drive shaft splines for wear and damage. Check for water and / or foreign material in the hinge AS Check for smooth rotation of the rollers and the wear or corrosion. Check the groove inside the housing of the hinge for wear or corrosion.
Assembly To prevent damage to covers, wrap masking tape drive shaft splines (the hinge side GI).

|
Before installing protective covers on them, set small clamps (Fig. 3.65). After combining the previously applied labels bearing rollers set with beveled side to the drive shaft.
| Fig. 3.66. Using a hammer and a special tool (1) for pressing the support rollers on the drive shaft
|
A hammer and a special tool to press in support of the drive shaft (Fig. 3.66). Install new thrust ring mounting support rollers. Add the Joint AS as much grease as were deleted during the scan. Recommended grease - CENTURY. Quantity of grease: - In the case of the hinge - (70 ? 5) g; - In hinge - (115 ? 5) g Lubricate hinge in GI and a protective cover. Recommended grease - One luber GKN. Quantity of grease: - In the case of the hinge - (60 ? 5) g; - In the hinge -100 ? 5) g According to earlier put labels establish the case of GI hinge on a power shaft. Install the protective covers.
A WARNING Make sure that both the protective cover established in the grooves of the drive shaft. Make sure that both the protective sheath is not stretched. |
Place the free end of the clamp hole fastening of a protective cover over the locking hooks. Tighten the clamps with special pliers.
| Fig. 3.67. Location (A) clearance measurement clamp fastening of a protective cover of the hinge AS
|
Clearance loop clamp fastening of a protective cover of the hinge AS (Fig. 3.67): - High collar - less than 2 mm; - Small collar - not more than 1.8 mm.
| Fig. 3.58. The nominal length of the left (A) and right (B) of the drive shafts
|
To check the air pressure in the bag to maintain the required distance between the clamps securing the protective cover or the length of the drive shaft when tightening the clamps. On cars with engines of 2.7 liter with automatic transmission nominal length of the left drive shaft (see. Fig. 3.58) is (523,1 ? 2) mm, right - (543,6 ? 2) mm. Pliers set opening free end of the clamp fastening of a protective cover over the joint GI locking hooks. Tighten the clamp with special pliers. Tighten the small clamp hinge GI special pliers. The clearance of small loop clamp fastening of a protective cover of the hinge GI - not more than 1.6 mm.
