Windshield
WARNINGS Removing and installing front window spend gloves. To avoid damaging the surfaces, located near the windshield, close their covers. |
Withdrawal To remove the windscreen pre-clear the following elements: - The upper trim of the front struts; - Rear-view mirror; - The wiper arms; - hood; - The sun visors and handrails; - Molding of the windshield.
A WARNING If you can not remove the molding, cut it with a knife. |
Tilt down the headliner. To protect the painted surface of the body stick adhesive tape on all edges of the body around the windshield.

If the glass is repeatedly established, mating marks on the glass and body.

Special adaptation 09861- 31400 (vacuum cups) remove the windshield from the vehicle. Check the edges of the body for possible deformation.
Setting With a sharp knife or a special tool (09861-31200), remove old sealant to a thickness of about 2 mm on the surface around the entire flange for installation of glass.
A WARNING Be careful not to remove more hermetic than required and do not damage the painted surface of the blade body. If the coating is still damaged, repair the defect with paint supplied with the car. |
Clean the mounting surface of the body with a sponge soaked in alcohol, or a composition for the removal of wax and grease.

Install the strut of the windshield in the areas shown in Fig. 7.56. Align the new windshield in the doorway and with a special wax pencil mark its position by putting in four places labels on the glass and body. Evenly apply a thin layer of soil 25-30 mm wide along the perimeter of the windshield and let it dry for 1-15 minutes.
WARNINGS Do not apply primer to the body on the glass. Apply primer evenly over the entire area. Do not apply too thick a coat of primer. Never touch the surface of the soil by hand. If this happens, the material may not be connected with glass that would cause any water after the installation of the glass. Do not let the primed surface with water, dust and abrasive materials. |

On the inner surface of the glass around the edge of the rubber glue jumper to apply a sealant when installing glass (Fig. 7.57). Install without gaps molding windscreen. Apply a thin layer of soil to the glass on the outside of the bridge. The glass must be installed within 10 minutes after application of the soil. Fill recommended sealant syringe for its application, trying to avoid the formation of air pockets that prevent its uniform application. Then, using a syringe, apply a uniform layer of sealant along the edge of the glass.

With the help of suction cups, or special devices (09861-31400) lower the glass into the opening, aligning the labels put before, and set the glass on the sealant. Insert the two lower brace to prevent downward movement of the windscreen. Align the windshield moldings (the white dot on the glass molding) and an inner roof molding. Sequentially press molding of glass from the center of the car to the left and the right post. Dry sealant for one hour. Check for leaks glass cold running water, but be careful - do not direct a jet of water on the new material is sealed. Let the water flow down the edges of the glass. If there is a leak, dry the area being audited, and then apply the sealant again.
WARNINGS Allow the car to stand for at least 4 hours after installation of the glass. Within 8 hours after installing windows comply with the minimum speed. The glass should be dry for one hour after the installation. |
Establish earlier removed elements.
A WARNING Within 2-3 days of installation is not recommended: - Slam the door when all the windows are raised; - Expose the body excessive loads (driving on rutted with entry and exit them at an angle, driving on rough roads). |
