The system controlled crankcase ventilation (PCV)
| Models with engines in volume of 4.0 liter equipped with a continuous (unmanaged) crankcase ventilation (CCV). The system operates in the same manner as conventional controlled (PCV), but its composition does not include a control valve. Instead molded vacuum tube is connected to the underpressure of the inlet pipeline to the cylinder head cover in the vehicle interior facing side of the engine. |
The tube is mounted a calibrated orifice of a fixed size. Orifice is used to determine the amount of output from the engine crankcase gases. Hose supply fresh air from the air cleaner is attached to the front of the cylinder head on the cylinder head cover. When the engine air is injected into the engine where it is mixed with crankcase vapors. Due to the vacuum intake manifold mixture of air and crankcase fumes pumped through a calibrated nozzle and the output to the pipeline, where enters the combustion chamber, where it is destroyed. The system controlled crankcase ventilation (PCV) to reduce emissions into the atmosphere of hydrocarbon compounds due to the destruction of the crankcase vapors. Is produced by the circulation of fresh air from the air through the crankcase of the engine, where one (air) is mixed with the crankcase gases and through a control valve (PCV) displays the inlet conduit. | PCV system of the engine 5.2 liters. |
| PCV valve engines of 5.2 liters. |
The main components of the system are a PCV valve (PCV valve), filter crankcase gases and vacuum hoses that serve for connection of these components in the engine. To maintain the quality of the idle speed PCV valve locks the output gases from the crankcase with a deep vacuum in the pipeline. In the event of irregularities in the functioning of the engine (for example problems occur with the piston rings) system design allows a conclusion on the crankcase ventilation pipe to the air cleaner, where the mixture enters the combustion chamber and destroyed during normal engine operation. Description of verification procedures and replace the PCV valve is provided in Chapter Settings and maintenance.
