Check of a free wheeling of a steering wheel

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Start the engine with the steering wheel installed in the straight. With the front wheels established for rectilinear movement, apply a force of 5 N to the steering wheel. The force is applied from the outside diameter of the steering wheel.

2. Measure a free wheeling around the circumference of the steering wheel.
Free running of the steering wheel: 0-30 m

3. If the free play exceeds the limit, then worn universal joints of the steering shaft or steering gear.
