Drive shaft with SHRUS ball-type and type Birfield
Dismantling |  | - For lubrication of constant velocity joints, use only special grease.
- When assembling SHRUS necessary to establish new collars.
|
1. Remove the clamps and pull the protective covers from the DOJ and BJ constant velocity joints of the drive shaft.  | Be careful not to damage the protective cover. |
2. Remove the collar and snap ring SHRUS DOJ  | 3. Remove the snap ring, the inner ring DOJ, the DOJ and the housing SHRUS balls as a unit. |
4. Without disassembly, clean the inner ring SHRUS DOJ, housing and balls. | - Be careful that the balls do not fall out of the housing.
- If the balls fall out of the housing, insert them back into the body SHRUS the DOJ and fix the inner ring.

5. Wipe lubricant from the splines.  | 6. Remove the protective cover from the SHRUS the DOJ and BJ | If the dust cover is to be reused before removing the cover for its protection, wrap the drive shaft splines with tape. Do not disassemble SHRUS type Birfield. |

Check | 1. Check the drive shaft splines.
2. Check for signs of rust, water and foreign objects in the boot band Birfield.  | 3. Check the DOJ ball constant velocity joints for signs of rust, damage to the outer ring, the inner ring and balls. |

Assembly | 1. Before installing the cover wrap to protect the drive shaft splines from the ball joint (DOJ) with adhesive tape.
2. Grease the drive shaft and install the cover.  | 3. Remove the masking tape. |
 | 4. Fill the inside of the covers of SHRUS V. J V. J, and recommended lubricant. Recommended lubricant: CENTOPLEX 278 M / 136 K Amount: - The hinge 2.0 L INC: 60 ?� 3 g
- The cover of 2,0 l INC: 60 ?� 3 g
- The hinge 2.5 l INC: 70 ?� 3 g
- The cover of 2,5 l INC: 65 ?� 3 g

 | 5. Fill the inside of the covers of SHRUS DO J and DO J recommended lubricant. Recommended lubricant: CENTOPLEX 278 M / 136 K Amount: - The hinge 65 ?� 3 g
- In the box: 40 ?� 3 g
|
6. Install the housing SHRUS DO J, balls, inner ring and snap ring.  | 7. Install the drive shaft in the housing SHRUS DO J and set the lock ring. |
 | 8. To adjust the amount of air in SHRUS DO J fasten covers so that the length of the drive shaft correspond to the desired values The length of the left drive shaft: - With MCP 2,0 l: 687,6 ?� 2 mm
- With MCP 2,5 l: 679,4 ?� 2 mm
The length of the right drive shaft: - With 2.0 liters INC: 1000,62 ?� 2 mm
- With MCP 2,5 l: 679,4 ?� 2 mm
