Removing and installing front wheel drive
Front wheel drive is removed for replacement in case of damage or for the replacement of joints. In addition, removing the need for them arises in obtaining access to other units. You will need: a hammer, punch or mandrel, the key "14" socket wrench "27". 2. Remove the decorative cap left front wheel and, without removing the wheels, tighten the nuts securing it (see. "Changing a wheel"), lower the car. |
| | 3. Rasstoporite wheel nut ... | 4. Remove the nut hub ... and loosen the wheel nuts. |
WARNINGS When loosening the hub nut car should stand on the ground! Loosen or tighten the wheel nuts only on the car standing on the earth. Do not use the hub nut again. |
5. braked vehicle parking brake, set the thrust bars under the rear wheels and lift the front of the car, setting a reliable support. |
7. Finally, loosen the hub nut and remove thrust spring washer. |
| | | 9. Carefully, so as not to damage the brake hose, take the shock absorber base to the side, at the same time removing from the hub shank outer constant-velocity joint. |
HELPFUL ADVICE If you can not remove the stem joint effort of the hands, beat him out of the hub with light blows of a hammer through a spacer made of soft metal or wood. |
10. With the mounting of the blade shank press out the internal hinge of the differential side gear ... |
NOTE The gap between the case of the internal hinge and the gearbox case is very small, once it is fully inserted into the mounting end of the blade is not possible. Introducing the sharpened part of the blade assembly in the gap, careful hammer blows along the hammer blades it deep into the end of the gap, removing it from the case of the hinge housing as a wedge to the release of the retaining ring shank of the hinge side gear. Then finally pull shovel shank hinge of gear. |
A WARNING When using a tire lever when pressing out the internal hinge of side gear gearbox do not damage the gearbox housing and the hinge. |
| 11. ... and remove the left wheel drive. |
12. To remove the right actuator assembly Repeat steps 1-8 only for the right side, then ... |
| ... 13. Remove the three mounting bolts of the intermediate shaft to the cylinder block and remove the drive and idler shaft assemblies. |
NOTE The drive can be removed from the vehicle without removing it complete with the intermediate shaft, for this ... ... hammer through the mandrel with its Xpress slots intermediate shaft ... ... and remove the drive from the car. |
A WARNING Replace new retaining rings each time the vehicle drives, or drives can spontaneously pop out of the side gears while driving. |
14. To install the drive first enter the splined shank external hinge housing into the wheel hub, set the spring thrust washer and screw the hub nut to the stop without tightening it definitively. |
15. Then enter the slotted liner in the case of the internal hinge gland axis and slightly rotate the drive shaft to coincide slots shank and hinge side gear. |
16. Pull down the lever to the front suspension and a sharp movement of the shock absorber to the steering knuckle in the press in the drive side gear (drive to the left) and the splines of the intermediate shaft (drive to the right) until the lock actuator lock ring. |
17. Connect the knuckle ball joint shock absorber to the lower arm and anti-roll bar. |
18. Install the wheel and tighten the wheel nuts to lock, without tightening them completely. |
19. Place the vehicle on the wheel, removing the supports, and tighten the hub nut. |
20. Lift the front of the car, loosen the wheel nuts, set the wheel covers and tighten the wheel nuts. |
