Marking on the joint housing and drive shaft

Label the joint housing and the shaft for assembly (Fig. 3.160).

ATTENTION
Apply marking paint; do not use a hammer.

Remove the clamp.
Label holder and a separator.
Remove the lock ring using pliers for removing and installing the retaining rings.

Turn the separator is about 30 ?� and lift cage and balls from the holder (Fig. 3.161).
Setting

Install the dynamic damper, as shown in Figure 3.162.
Standard Length: 334,7-340,7 mm.
Install the new clamp cover a dynamic damper.
Fill the boot (wheel side) with grease.

NOTE
Covers and Wheel Side Transmission different.

ATTENTION
Do not touch the grease hands. Apply grease from the tube, do not let pollution into the case.
Grease quantity: 90-110 g (L8, LF left side), 105-125 g (L8, LF right side and L3)

Install the cover without removing the tape, which was wrapped splined shaft during disassembly.
Remove the tape.

Align the mark and set the balls and cage to cage in the direction shown in Figure 3.163.

ATTENTION
Set separator chamfered towards the recess of the locking ring. If improperly installed, the drive shaft may disconnect during movement.

Establish a new lock ring.
Fill the joint housing and cover (Transmission) with grease.
Grease quantity: 105-125 g (L8, LF left side), 120-140 g (L8, LF right side and L3).
Align the mark and set the body on the shaft.
Install a new clip.
Install the cover.

Standard length mm

Set the standard length of the drive shaft.
Let the air out of the case by lifting the edge of the smaller end covers with a screwdriver wrapped with a cloth.
Make sure that the length of the drive shaft - within limits.
