Removal, check the technical condition and installation of camshafts
For removal of camshafts must perform surgery to remove the chain and sprocket timing (See above.). Further, should proceed to withdraw the camshaft bearing caps. Make sure you have marks on the drive chains and sprockets. In the absence of such labels, set the first cylinder at TDC of the compression stroke and apply paint marks to align the chain link and the point on the sprocket. For greater reliability can each star tie the wire to the circuit.

Mark the bearing caps before their removal. Arrow does not cover support must be turned to the side chain of a drive of camshafts (Fig. 2.57). On the surface of the shaft bearing caps of inlet valves applied the letter ?I? (INLET).

In the reverse order shown in Fig. 2.58, loosen one turn the bolts securing the camshaft cover, gradually reducing this pressure valve springs. Fully unscrew and remove the bolts. Label each bolt, since they have different lengths. Remove Oil Wiper screen and oil line. Remove bearing caps and remove the camshafts. Check the status of the items. At the contact surface of the cylinder head with the bearing caps are allowed risks burrs etc.. Inspect the camshaft. On the cam should not be cut, stepped and uneven wear, signs of overheating (discoloration) and other surface defects. Measure the height and diameter of the necks of cam shafts. Measure radial runout of the camshaft, setting them on the prism. Measurement of clearance in the bearings of shafts carried by a special plastic thread, as is described for determining the clearance in the bearings of the crankshaft. The measurement results compare with values-tions given in the main technical data.

When removing the camshafts is advisable to check the technical condition of hydraulic pushers. To do this, remove the valve lever to the cylinder head (Fig. 2.59) and remove (without the help of a magnet) Hydropusher from the hole in the cylinder head (Fig. 2.60). Place the items according to their position in the box (cell). Remove the washer and the guide sleeve with the valve stem and put them together with its lever valve. Repeat these steps for all the levers of valves, hydropushers, guide bushings and washers. Check the bearing surfaces of the levers of valves hydropushers, guides, and the cylinder head; They must be free of wear and damage (burrs, scratches, nicks). Replace worn parts. Before installing, check the amount of wear hydropushers washers mounted on the end of the valve. To do this, the guide sleeve on the end of the valve from which it was removed.

Fix the dial gauge on the cylinder head and move his measuring rod to the support surface of the guide sleeve (Fig. 2.61), ie, the slot guide. Set in this position indicator scale to zero. Turn indicator (dipstick raised) so that the measuring rod rested in a nearby valve stem end of the cylinder (Fig. 2.62). Make sure to support the indicator when measuring not shifted. Calculate the difference in elevation between the end of the valve stem and the support surface of the guide sleeve and record the result. Return to the starting position indicator and set the measuring rod on the supporting surface of the guide sleeve. Arrow indicator should show zero. Measure for each pair of intake and exhaust valves for each cylinder and record the results. Based on the results of said measurement pick washers desired thickness for each pair of valves. The tolerance on the thickness of the washer is ? 0.025 mm. Washers produce a thickness of between 2,800 to 3,200 mm with an interval of 0.025 mm. Size is indicated on the reverse side of the plate (so that "2875" indicates that the thickness of the washer 2.875 mm). To measure the thickness of the removed washers and determine its wear and tear, you can use a micrometer.

Put a washer on the valve (Fig. 2.63). Make sure that the label side washers were turned down. Before installing hydropushers check for the presence of air in the cavity. Set Hydropusher vertically and press it. Movement of the plunger by an amount greater than 1 mm is air in Hydropusher. In this case, as well as installing a new hydropusher it is necessary to pump.

Insert the plug into the hole hydropusher metal rod of suitable diameter. Hydropusher Place upright in a vessel filled with clean engine oil (Fig. 2.64). By clicking on the bar, sinking the ball valve, then slowly, repeatedly press the plunger until the air bubbles will stop coming. Repeat this a few times and make sure there is no air in hydropushers. Set hydropushers the holes in the cylinder head. Install the washers and guide sleeves to the valves. Install the valve levers.

Grease with pure engine oil to the camshaft bearings and install camshafts. Make sure that the piston of the first cylinder of the engine is at TDC compression stroke. Set the camshafts so that the cam lobe of the first cylinder facing upward. Dowel pin on the camshaft of inlet valves must be set to "10:00", while the dowel pin of the exhaust camshaft - in the "12 o'clock" (Fig. 2.65). Apply sealant on mating surface cover support at the rear end of the exhaust camshaft (Fig. 2.66). According to marks made before removal, install the bearing caps into place. Make sure that the arrows on covers directed towards the chain drive. Install the screen on the cover bearing ?2 exhaust camshaft. Set in its place and the oil pipe bolts bearing caps and tighten them by hand. Tighten by one turn the bolts of covers of bearings of a camshaft of inlet valves in the sequence shown in Fig. 2.58. This cover must touch the surface of the cylinder head. Tighten the specified torque all cover bolts. Likewise, tighten bolts of covers of the exhaust camshaft. Install the timing chain and sprockets. Be sure to mark the location on the drive sprocket and chain. Install the bolts and washers securing sprockets and tighten the bolts specified torque. Establish the ignition distributor. Attach the battery "minus" wire.
