Operating principle

The brake system is most effective at the maximum tire adhesion to the road surface. When braking, the tire begins to slip on a road surface. Thus, the wheel speed becomes lower than the vehicle speed. Sliding minimum (0%) when the wheels are rolling, and the maximum (100%) when it is locked. Maximum effectiveness of the brakes is achieved by sliding around 15%. This value is also provided sufficient vehicle handling and stability. ABS provides immediate restriction of the braking pressure in each wheel brake mechanisms for the slip coefficient close to the optimum, when the state of the road surface or load.
