Relieve the pressure in the fuel system of the engine (see. "Removing and installing the engine"). Remove the battery. Lift up on the stand and lift the front of the car. Drain the engine oil and coolant. Remove the front right wheel, mudguard and lower engine guards. Remove the power steering pump with the help of available tools secure it in the engine compartment, take aside and without disconnecting from it hoses. Release the cylinder head cover, and remove the bracket to the bracket, remove the crankcase ventilation hose, remove the air filter housing. Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the high-voltage spark. Remove the drive cover and turn the crank shaft, set the mark on the crankshaft pulley against the mark on the cylinder block. This position corresponds to the determination of the crankshaft of the piston of 1st cylinder in the TDC at the end of the compression stroke. Make sure that the camshaft cams of 1st cylinder point upwards, remove the ignition distributor. The rotor of the distributor of ignition must be turned to "5:00". Remove the ignition distributor, remember or write down its position in the cylinder head. Remove the front cylinder head cover. In accordance with Fig. 2.17 disconnect hoses from the cylinder head. Remove the thermostat. Make sure you have marks on the sprockets and the respective chain links. If marks are absent or difficult to see, they apply paint. Remove the timing chain drive sprockets and intermediate pad. Remove the chain tensioner timing.

Using a wrench, "22 mm", lock the rotation of the camshafts (Fig. 2.18) and remove the bolts of the intermediate sprocket and sprocket camshafts. Remove the timing chain with asterisks. Remove intermediate sprocket and its axis. In the sequence shown in Fig. 2.19, unscrew bolts camshaft cover, remove the lid, put them in order of removal, and remove the camshafts. Disconnect the front exhaust pipe. Remove the intake manifold bracket. Disconnect the absorber tube, suitable to the solenoid valve recycling fuel vapors.

|
In accordance with Fig. 2.20 disconnect hoses and pipes from the throttle body, fuel pressure regulator, inlet pipe and valve differential pressure.

Undock electrical connectors, remove the harnesses from the cylinder head. Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel line. Disconnect the throttle cable. In reverse order of that shown in Fig. 2.21, unscrew the bolts of the cylinder head and remove them. Make sure that all the hoses and electric cables are disconnected from the cylinder head via a suitable lever undock from the cylinder head with intake manifold and exhaust manifold. Establish a head on a wooden surface plane of the connector down. Do not turn your head to avoid falling out of pushers. Remove the cylinder head gasket. Remove the front exhaust pipe. Remove the lower cross member of the body. Remove the anti-vibration spacers on the power unit. On vehicles with automatic transmission, remove the bottom protective cover of the torque converter. Remove the oil pan and oil receiver engine lubrication system. Remove the pulley from the crankshaft.

Install a backup engine. Remove the right engine mount bracket. Remove the front cover of the timing (Fig. 2.22) and remove the crankshaft oil seal. Make sure you have marks on the chain links and sprocket. In the absence of labels, apply their paint. Remove the drive hub of the oil pump and the crankshaft sprocket with their keys. Remove the pacifier chain valve timing and circuit itself. Check technical condition of chains and sprockets. Worn teeth, chipped rollers, chain wear are the basis for the replacement of parts. Make sure there is no significant deterioration of the working surface of the shoe tensioners. With the help of chemical solvents and softeners remove any residues removed gaskets and the surface of the cylinder head. Do not use sharp objects that may cause damage to the surfaces of the aluminum parts. Make sure that foreign objects and the remains of the gaskets do not fall into the pipelines of the engine. Check the flatness of the cylinder head and cylinder block. Clean using tap threaded holes in the cylinder block to the mounting bolts of the cylinder head and blow them with compressed air.
