Preparing for the trip by car

Before we get into the car make sure that his glass, mirrors and lights are clean. Check the condition of the wheels, look under the car and make sure there are no leaks of liquids.

Check according to the maintenance schedule of the engine fluid levels (engine oil, coolant and brake fluid), as well as the level of the liquid for washing of glasses (see chap. Adjustment and car routine maintenance).

Situated in the car, do the following:

• Close and lock all doors;
• Adjust the seat position (see. Section System of additional safety (SRS)), and mirrors;
• Make performance outdoor lighting;
• Check the operation of the instrument;
• When the ignition Check the K / A, located in the instrument cluster;
• Fasten your seatbelt and be reminded about it available to passengers;
• Release the parking brake and make sure it conforms to the A / R goes out.

Engine starting

Between failed attempts to start the engine should wait about 10 seconds to prevent damage to the starter.

To begin, make sure that the parking brake is fully cocked, and all auxiliary systems are off.

On models with AT mode move the selector lever to position AT ?�P?� and depress the brake pedal. On models with Manual transmission clutch pedal. When the vehicle system ?�Intelligent Key?� fully depress the brake pedal to bring the ignition switch from position ?�LOCK?�.

Turn the ignition switch to ?�START?� and hold it until the engine starts (but not more than 15 seconds), then release the ignition key - it has to go back to the position ?�ON?�. When the starter, do not press the gas pedal, except when the engine is hard to start at very low or very high temperatures, and in the summer, when starting a warm engine within an hour after turning it off.

If the engine is stalled after trying to run, repeat the above procedure once again, after having waited for about 10 seconds. If the engine fails to start, check the fuel pump fuse.

Before starting, allow the engine to idle for at least 30 seconds. While the engine is not warmed up, avoid his work at high speeds and under heavy loads, particularly in cold weather.

After prolonged high load on the engine will not turn it off right away, let him first few minutes at idle to avoid extreme temperatures in different zones of the engine.
