Removal and installation of the transverse jet bar
| To perform the procedures described below require a press suitable mandrel and the tube. |
Withdrawal | - On models of early years of release give a nut fastening the damper to the steering drive transverse torque rods, remove the washer. Remove the damper from the bar and move it to the side.
- On models of late years of release give a nut to resort to cross-reactive steering damper rod end while holding the damper rod from turning with a wrench. Remove the washers and rubber sleeves and take the damper side.
| On some models, the steering damper actuator is fixed not on the cross-section jet bar and on the chassis. In this case, the procedure of the first two paragraphs should be deleted. |
- Give a nut and bolt cross-section jet bar to the front axle and the chassis. Remove the bar from the vehicle.
- Check the hub transverse jet rod for signs of wear or damage. Defective plug replace (see. Accompanying illustration):
- Prop up the post to be replaced by a segment of the pipe sleeve of suitable diameter (the sleeve must pass freely through the pipe).
- Using the tool, the mandrel which will abut the inner steel tube sleeve, squeeze the plug of the rod.
| Bushes have a different internal diameter, so it is advisable to carry out their replacement alternately. |
- Moisten the outer surface of the new plug soapy water and start to gradually push the plug on its seat with the help of a piece of pipe, which will abut the outer steel tube sleeve.
- Ensure perpendicularity of the bushing and its central location.

|
Setting Installation is in the reverse order. | - If replacement of bushings, carefully check the condition of the axial pin and rod bolts. Replace worn components.
- Install transverse torque rods on the vehicle, install all hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, rubber grommets).
- Push the car a few times, then tighten the nut with a force of 157 chassis ÷ 167 Nm. Bridge nut torque to 127 ÷ 167 Nm.
- If necessary, tighten the nut on the steering damper actuator.
