Radiator
Mount the radiator on the fuel-injected engine. When set carburettor engine is only one radiator Removing radiator When removing and installing refer to the illustration above. On models with the engine carburetor is only one fan, which is fastened in the same manner. | - Drain the coolant as described in Chapter Current leaving and service.
- Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses from the radiator and the engine, after loosening the hose clamps.
- On vehicles with automatic transmission, disconnect the inlet and outlet pipes, oil cooler. Place a container to collect the escaping oil.
- Disconnect the battery.
- Disconnect the electrical cables on the motor or fan motor and thermoswitch.
- Loosen the nuts on the upper side, remove the corners and remove the heat sink, making sure that the heatsink cell bumping into any engine or body parts. Rubber feet on the underside of the fan shroud can be replaced if they are in an unsatisfactory condition.
- If you want to - remove the radiator housing installed or individual plates.

Setting Installation is carried out in reverse order. If you suspect a malfunction of water hoses should be replaced. Do not forget to connect the fan motor connectors and thermal switch. Fill with coolant as described in Chapter Current leaving and service. After warming up the engine, check the tightness of all connections. Also check that the fan motors on and off. Check the radiator and cover If there is a pump for pressurizing the radiator, it can be set on the radiator and create a pressure of 1.6 bar. The system pressure should not fall. If the pressure drops, there is a leak. In this case, set the vehicle on a dry place to determine where the coolant flows. With this same pump may be pressure check valve opening in the lid. Place the pump on the lid and bring it into effect. If the value of pressure of 0.9 bar pressure should soon subside, t. E. In the cap opens the valve. If it does not, replace the cover. Do not open the valve quickly leads to the engine overheating. If the valve is stuck in an open state, the system pressure can not be created. | Checking the radiator cap by the pump. |
Water pump The water pump does not understand in the case of failure or damage is replaced. Check the clearance in the bearing shaft bearing and impeller for rust. The pump does not use pads, it is for the pump to be used a good sealant. Removal and installation of the pump | - Drain the coolant as described in Chapter Current leaving and service.
- Loosen the bolts of the water pump pulley.
- At the same time, press up on the belt to the pulley does not rotate.
- Loosen the bolts on the generator and the generator on the mounting bracket and remove the V-belt.
- Unscrew the water pump pulley.
- Remove the water pump and remove it. Just carefully remove all traces of sealant from the pump and cylinder block using a scraper.
| Check the water pump bearings for damage or wear. The form of the pulley on the motor data may vary. |
- Hold the pump in one hand and with the other hand turn the pulley hub, as shown in the illustration above. If unsatisfactory bearing in hand will be felt uneven movement. In this case, the pump must always be replaced. The impeller inside the pump should not be subject to rust. When installing the water pump to put around the perimeter of the sealing surface of the sealant strip thickness of 2 - 3 mm, and set the pump in reverse order. Finally, fill the coolant and check for leaks. Adjust the belt tension as described in the Head Current leaving and service.
