Check the hydraulic system for leaks

For the detection of leaking hydraulic fluid spaces create the greatest hydraulic pressure: twist the steering wheel in both directions from stop to stop and briefly hold it in extreme positions.

Check the steering gear area, covers on the rack, the ends of the rack (O-rings rack), power-steering pump and the point of attachment hoses. Ejected from the liquid at these locations indicate the leak.
