Checking the coolant level
Sufficient coolant level is an important condition for the normal operation of the engine cooling system. Therefore, you should regularly check the coolant level. The coolant level can be correctly verified only when the engine is off.
To check the coolant level is no need to remove the expansion tank - it is transparent (Fig. 1.73). The coolant level when the engine is cold should be between the "MIN" and "MAX"; when the engine level may be slightly above the mark "MAX".
Topping up the coolant Top up only with new coolant.
ATTENTION Do not open the expansion tank cap when the engine is hot - you can get burned (Fig. 1.74). |
First, turn off the engine and let it cool. Then cover with a cloth cap of the expansion tank and carefully unscrew it counterclockwise. For topping up, use only new coolant. If in these circumstances no coolant concentrate G12 based low temperature, should not be poured into the coolant system on the basis of another concentrate. In this case, it may be topped up water only; at the first opportunity, be sure to restore the desired composition of the coolant by adding the recommended low temperature concentrate.
