Checking the tightness of vacuum receiver in the intake manifold

Test conditions
Check and make sure all vacuum hoses on the intake manifold are not damaged and are properly connected.

Checking procedure

Vacuum hose
Fig. 2.69. Vacuum hose

Disconnect the vacuum hose going from the damper valve intake manifold to the intake manifold, intake manifold (Fig. 2.69).
Connect a hand vacuum pump to the intake manifold.
Tighten the knurled screw on the vacuum pump.
Operate hand vacuum pump until the pressure gauge reaches a vacuum of 0.3 bar.

NOTE
To create a vacuum of 0.3 bar, because of the large volume vacuum reservoir may need to pump the 20 times.

Ensure a pressure of about 3-5 minutes.
If the vacuum remains at 0.3 bar - vacuum reservoir in the intake manifold is undamaged.
If the pressure increases - replace the intake manifold.
